I think I had to look on Amazon for similar Columbia children's mittens to find a size guide because these don't have one. For my 9-year-old daughter, I ordered a size L. We kept them because the straps keep the mittens in place for our one-year-old son, but they turned out to be too big (they fit my hand!).

It's likely that they're a nice pair of mitts. They appear to be warm, and I'm guessing they're waterproof. However, the Youth Small fits me, and I am an average-sized woman. It's an adult size, and it's ridiculously big on my 7-year-old. year- old. I'm not even going to order the extra small because I'm afraid they'll be too big.
They are comfortable to wear and last longer than any of my other mittens. In all but the most bitterly cold, well below zero days, I usually spend an hour or more at the dog park.
