It would be excellent as an accessory to a tuxedo or suit since it's a formal classical style bow tie with a clip.

This is the perfect dress for a wedding or any other occasion that requires a formal look.

Bow ties for this neck size are designed to fit neck sizes of 16 inches or bigger. Its edges measure 1 7/8 inches high at the edges and it is 100% Microfiber ("SILK-feel").

For a child of 2 or 3 years old, this is fine. Additionally, the bow tie has an adjustable band that goes around the neck, so you can adjust it based on your needs.

Providing a one-year-old with this is a big deal. He loved it and I bought it for him at a very reasonable price.

Rather than a glossy finish, this color is matte.

Would a 5 year old be able to wear this?

YES, the neck band on the bow tie can be adjusted as needed, so you can wear it as desired. I think a 5 year old will do fine with this.

It is as pictured, but I only gave it three stars because it was dirty when I received it. Washing the stained clothes in the hopes that they will wash out.
