I didn't want to spend 80 dollars on the official cable just yet, so I went with the cheaper option. The only thing I would change about this cable is that instead of being latex coated, it should be woven. But, yes, it accomplishes the goal. br>br>In addition, many reviews claim that it will not charge your headset. If you're unlucky like me, your USB port isn't powered; you can tell if your port is powered by the presence of a small lightning bolt symbol near the port where the USB logo is. Another pro tip: this cable should be used with a USB 3. 0 device. Not an older one, but a 0 port. Check for an SS to see if you have those. directly in front of the USB logo I hope this clears things up for anyone who was perplexed.
I'd always kept it neatly tucked away with the rest of my cables, but when I wanted to play VR again, it suddenly stopped working. I'm not sure what's going on.
With the 3m (10ft) long cable, you gain some independence, and it is not as heavy as some other cables (e. g. , Ethernet). I bought a 16-foot cable). You're still tethered, but the 3m isn't long enough for full room scale use, and it's only a minor annoyance when seated. br>br>I used it to connect my Quest 2 to a USB-powered computer. A 3. 0 port on my monitor, which is equipped with a USB 3. 0 hub. In the Oculus desktop application (Windows 10), the test ranged from 1. 2 Gbps and 5 Gbps 2 Gbps. While I'm not sure where the variation comes from, it appears to be enough to run Valve's Alyx without a hitch. By the way, this is the same range as another Cable (which has 3. 2 USB- When I connected the headset directly to the USB port of my RTX card, it returned, indicating that this is the headset's limit. br>br>(Like the original Rift, the cable is only used to project the PC game onto the Oculus; the latter does not take part in rendering. ).
Normally, I believe that a cable is just that: I have a few charging and data transfer cables at home, but none of them were up to the task of charging and data transfer for the Oculus Quest 2. One worked in some ways, but had a lot of bugs. This cable simply worked after I plugged it in. It's also difficult to beat for the price. If you want to stand up while playing, I'm not sure it's long enough, but I prefer to sit down for my PCVR games. This is ideal and significantly less expensive than the official Oculus cable.
At first, I had problems with the cable disconnecting in the middle of a game. It would be extremely inconvenient to have to unplug and reconnect the cable just to get signal on the Oculus Link. I didn't use Oculus Link again until last week, when I received an update for new Oculus drivers. Everything went smoothly with the cable and VR. The cables are a bit heavy, but if you're sitting down, you won't notice. Overall, it started off a little shaky, but it improved!.
If you're looking for a reliable cable and don't want to pay for the expensive oculus cable, this should suffice. br>br>It doesn't feel cheap, it's thick. br>br>It works great to link quest 2 to desktop and use oculus store and mess around with sidequest. br>br>If you're looking for a reliable cable and don't want to pay for the expensive oculus cable, this It isn't the most pliable, but neither is it the most rigid. br>br>I've only used it to transfer files; I'm not sure if I should use it for quest pcvr.
I've discovered that the USB-C cable is extremely finicky. C end, when plugged into the Oculus Quest 2, will disconnect at random unless it is FIRMLY held in place on your headset with the included velcro straps. I've ordered a new cable from Anker because the number of random disconnections is too much for me. Just to get it in the right place to work, I have to fiddle with it. WHEN IT WORKS, THIS IS A GREAT CABLE.
