It comes with an extra short charging cable as well, in case you lose the one that came with it. There is no need to buy the "name brand" charging cord (by that I mean Apple) when I can get the same results for much less money. This is not the lowest priced off-brand charging cord. I have never used an off-brand charging cable before, but I noticed that this was The brand I purchased was of higher quality than the very cheapest. Those chargers have been with me for a little over three months now. In order to work, they need to be at a certain angle, and when I leave my Fitbit charger on for too long (about five minutes for these), they get smokey. During the melting process, I had to pick out small pieces of the longer one from the metal watch band attached to my fitbit. They both melted, but the longer one is completely useless at this point.
