He's a truck driver, so it's necessary for him to talk hands-free. I would strongly suggest it.
I work from home and receive a lot of incoming calls. I use Windows 10 with the GoTo phone app and connect via bluetooth to my laptop. There is some background noise, but it isn't anything out of the ordinary; it's just television and background conversations from the other residents. Several callers expressed their dissatisfaction with being able to hear everything that was going on in the background. Reviews led me to believe that this headset would be the best for shielding others on the other end of the line from the noise, but based on feedback from others, it did not appear to significantly improve the problem compared to other headsets I've tried. Maybe a smidgeon better, but not by much. From the start, this was a letdown. The following are some of the other disadvantages I've encountered.
- The speaker's acoustic quality. The sound quality is, in my opinion, terrible. Everyone sounds muffled and distant; it's as if I'm in Charlie Brown's classroom, listening to the teacher speak.
- The connection via Bluetooth. I seem to have a few problem-free hours of phone use per day, and then it's hit or miss the rest of the time. Although the headset indicates that it is connected, I am receiving incoming calls but hearing nothing through the headset. You won't hear anyone if you p/u the call, and no one will hear you if you don't p/u the call. You turn off the headset, then turn it back on and reconnect to the Bluetooth connection. When a new call comes in, it may start working perfectly again, or it may appear to start working but the caller sounds like a more digitized version of Robocop and you can't understand what they're saying, or it may say connected but you don't hear anything. After messing around with turning the headset on and off, as well as turning Bluetooth on and off, it will eventually reconnect, but you may experience this issue again in the future. Other headsets do not behave in this manner, so it does not appear to be the phone app.
- The headset is incompatible with Windows 10, and whatever updater app you install on your computer does nothing; additionally, when you plug in the headset to your laptop, it does nothing and does not recognize you. br>br>It appears that this device is more bulletproof when used with a cell phone, or that older versions of this headset simply worked better. In my opinion, I paid too much for a high-end headset that performs like a $20 headset. 00 for the headset I went back to the cheapo made in China that I had been using before this one.
Even with the noise from the truck, no one has a problem hearing me, and I only charge it once a week, even though I use it 5 days a week for at least 8 to 10 hours a day. Since my last purchase, they've increased the talk time and added an audio feature that allows you to listen to the phone's audio through the headset. It lasts for a long time. I only bought another one because my previous one had broken.
This device was purchased so that I could charge it via USB cable. My second Blueparrott headset (B250-1) XT) had a charging input of 12 volts. My old one is still functional, but it is being repurposed for a different purpose. br>br>I have a couple of complaints. The first is that when the USB power is asserted while I am in a conversation and I need to charge the headset, the unit turns off (drops the BT connection). One of the things about my previous model that irritated me was this. That should never happen on a new model! Because I am connected to a charger, there is no reason for it to shut down. The transition from the battery to running and charging the battery should be seamless. Second, as the volume is increased, the "beeps" become louder. Why don't I ask the girl in my ear to tell me how loud it is? Or, even better, let the audio itself tell me whether I'm making it louder or softer? br>br>Aside from that, the headset is one of my favorites.
I was let down. My previous headset (not xts) had a great volume, but the volume on the xts is extremely low, even at maximum volume. When I turn up the volume too loudly, the headset beeps in my ear, and the person on the other end of the line can no longer hear me. The worst part is that callers from outside the box couldn't hear me until I fiddled with it for an hour. I'm on the lookout for a new headset.
This is the third time I've bought a Parrot headset. There is no other brand that compares in terms of quality. The shipper is unrelated to this review. Everything has to do with the brand, and my husband is a truck driver. Long before the general public, is required to be hands-free. The only reason I'm on my third headset is because the first two have "gone bad" or simply stopped holding a charge, and/or the set has stopped working for either speaking or hearing.
A cellular retailer had sold me a brand new iPhone. I used to have this exact headset, but it was getting a little worn out, so they had to order me a new one. I went online to Amazon and discovered that the same exact headset was available for $50 less. What else can I say? It works flawlessly, it's simple to set up, and it never drops a call. I'm very pleased with it. If I had to, I would definitely buy it again. You never know if you're paying a lot of money for a bad piece when it comes to this item. This is a fantastic choice.
This device has the best Bluetooth noise cancellation I've ever seen. My other half works as a truck driver, and he can hear the person on the other end of the line without difficulty even when working in a noisy environment. When I talk to him, it cancels out 99% of background noise and I’t tell he’s driving a truck. It does not hurt him and he can wear it all day. Also impressive is the battery life. He has two blue parrots now. He's tried other Bluetooths, but nothing comes close to this one. I don't know how much he spent on Bluetooths that he couldn't use for work, but it was well worth the money.
