Satellite phones, like most other mobile communication devices, connect to their network via a paid service, such as a monthly plan or prepaid card, which is made possible by the SIM card inserted in the satellite phones. It's similar to using a SIM card for cellular service, except satellite communications operate on a different network structure.
If you only plan to use it in Canada and Alaska, the Canada/Alaska prepaid card is the best option; however, if you want to use it in the continental United States or anywhere else, you'll need a Global card.
With a monthly service card, you get a detailed breakdown of your usage on your invoice, which you don't get with a prepaid card.
Country code 8816 is used for all Iridium phone numbers. If you activate Monthly Service, you can get a US-based forwarding number; if you activate Prepaid Service, you can use Iridium's 2-way communication system. Feature of stage dialing

I bought a 150-minute package for two months. When I called BlueCosmo to activate the service, they suggested a $100 monthly billing package that included 150 minutes per month. They also offer a basic package for $50 per month or $75 per month, which includes 10 minutes. My advice is to purchase a basic phone or phone kit that does not include air time, then call BlueCosmos and sign up for a monthly plan. I'm stuck with a 150-minute sim that I can't return because it came with the phone in a kit. I'll include the sim card in the package when I sell the phone. br>br>The phone, on the other hand, worked in every location. From Costa Rica to Mexico, I was sailing down the Pacific coast of Central America. Inside the fiberglass boat's cabin, I could occasionally use the phone. BlueCosomo's performance was outstanding. BlueCosomo receives a five-star rating. Amazon gets a one-star rating. As a replacement phone, Amazon sent me a broken phone with a box of parts. There was even a return slip from another Amazon customer in the box. The phone already had a sim card in it that had been used to some extent. This phone was required two weeks ago when I traveled to Puerto Rico. It's terrible. BlueCosomo's performance was outstanding. They sent me a replacement phone and had it pre-configured in San Juan. Out of the box, everything is set up and ready to go. JON and CHUCK from BlueCosmo deserve special mention!.
As a result, I had to find another satellite phone quickly. I felt very comfortable going to BlueCosmo for another Globalstar phone because I had purchased my previous one from them. Because Inmarsat didn't meet my needs, I had no choice but to use Iridium. The package is a fantastic value. BlueCosmo was quick to deliver the phone to me. In comparison to my Globalstar, this phone is a little smaller and requires a little more effort to operate. But that's just part of the learning curve with a new device; I added a docking station and a larger mag antenna, and it now works perfectly. In Alaska, I had sat connection 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, thanks to the external antenna in my window sill.
It's a talkie, so it's a little low-key. in comparison to brick-and-mortar IsatPhone 2 is an example of this. In addition, the coverage of the Iridium constellation is excellent.
