Questions & Answers

Is it only compatible with Bixby or does it support hands-free Google Assistant?

Simply say, "Hey Google," and it will work, as it does on my Samsung.

Has anyone tried these with hearing aids?

Yes, I do have these galaxy buds in my possession, and they're fantastic. Unlike most earbuds, they do not go into your ear canal and instead sit on the outside. However, I have found that if I wear my digital hearing aids and then put these buds on, they are bothersome for me, so when I use the galaxy buds live, I simply remove my hearing aids and put the buds on.

Is it possible to use them while exercising?

Every day, I exercise with them. They've never bothered me when they've stayed in.

Is it possible for me to use each bud on my own?

Yes.

Is there a winner or a loser here? I'll express my opinion
4/5

For almost a year, I've been on the lookout for the "ideal" earbuds, and as a result, I've purchased and returned several pairs. On launch day, I was on the verge of purchasing the Buds Plus, but instead chose to purchase the Galaxy Buds Live. br>br>Here are my specifications for the "ideal" earbud: Each bud has the ability to function on its own (i. e. There is no master/slave relationship, the ability to use Google and Amazon voice assistants, the ability to pair and switch between multiple devices quickly, compatibility with my Samsung Galaxy phone, noise cancellation, and no ear fatigue I'm not sure why, but fitting all of these features into an earbud has proven to be more difficult than I anticipated. Here are a few that I've tried: br>br> br>Amazon Alexa Buds – I liked all of the features, but they caused a lot of ear fatigue and were extremely touch sensitive, which resulted in a lot of call disconnections by accident. Samsung Galaxy Buds (original) – Slight ear fatigue, too much noise cancellation for my liking. br>br>AirPod Pros: Nice buds, but because I'm on Android, I'm missing out on a lot of the features that they have when connected to an iPhone. Here's how I feel about them: br>br> The Fit: br>br> The shape, which resembles a bean, is intriguing. It sits comfortably in my ear; They seem to be in good shape, with no signs of ear fatigue so far. Others made me feel as if they were about to fall out, so I had to stuff them deep into my ears to compensate. I don't have to put them in my ears, which can be uncomfortable and makes me feel like I'm underwater. br>br>The Sound: Although I am not an audiophile, I find the sound to be excellent. It's a resounding yes. On the Galaxy Wearable App, I like that I can adjust the equalizer. Active Noise Cancellation br>br>Active Noise Cancellation br>br>Active Noise Cancellation br>br>Activ Although not as powerful as the original Galaxy Buds, I can't completely isolate myself from the outside world as a mother. I need to be able to hear what's going on and whether or not my children are yelling for me. However, there is some cancellation there because I was listening to music and didn't notice the robot vacuum start up as much as I would have if I hadn't been wearing these. I can also hear myself speak, which helps me control the volume of my voice. (When I wore the Galaxy Buds, my kids always thought I was yelling. )br>br>Call Quality: I'm on a lot of conference calls throughout the day, which is why I bought these buds; the calls are crystal clear and don't have any static. Another review stated that the person on the other end said the wearer sounded distant, but this has not been my experience thus far. Pairing: br>br> So far, I've connected these buds to my computer, my Samsung Galaxy phone, and my iPad. The connection to the computer was simple and quick. However, it took about 15 minutes for me to pair with my Samsung phone. That, I believe, was because the buds were still connected to my computer. I had no problems pairing my iPad with my phone, as I had with my phone. Switching between devices has become much easier and nearly seamless since the initial set up.

Battery Life: I feel as if I have barely worn them today and they are already 54%. I'll have to give it some more time to see if battery drain is a major concern. br>Edited on December 1, 2021 - I've never had a problem with the battery running out quickly. br>Edited on February 1, 2021 - After being on multiple conference calls over the past week, I realized I hadn't charged the buds/case in weeks, and it finally said low battery today! I'm very happy with the battery life. br>br>Voice Assist: I can summon Alexa quickly and easily by simply holding the left earbud. In conclusion: br>br> These are slightly more expensive than I had hoped to pay for a bud, but they fulfill all of my requirements. They are less expensive than AirPod Pros, and their unique shape makes them more comfortable to wear for me. br>br>I hope you have found this review to be useful.

Initial Thoughts: I'm worried about these and will most likely return them
3/5

I was looking forward to their release after hearing all the buzz and seeing the leaks over the last few months. br>br>Now that I have them in my hands (or ears, as the case may be), I have some serious reservations. br>br>I wanted these for listening to music and, perhaps more importantly, for making phone calls without having to use my hands. br>br>For the record, I've got these hooked up to my Samsung S8 phones. I changed between two S8's and got identical results

Being 100% Android and anti-Android and anti-Android and anti-Android and anti-Android and anti-Android and anti-Android As a long-time Apple user, I can confidently state that the AirPods are flawless. Not only for sound, but also for the audio quality of calls being transmitted and received. In terms of call quality, the Galaxy Buds Live might not be quite as good. Call Quality: br>br>Call Volume: br>br>Call Volume: br>br>C The audio quality of the caller's voice was excellent from the very first call. The audio began to sound distorted, and I continued to hear a lot of digital noise. What I discovered is that if I put my phone in my pocket, or if I hold my phone by my side, it almost appears that I lose connection or that there is interference. As if there's a problem with the signal. However, if I hold the phone upright or close to my face, the sound is fine; this shouldn't be the case. On the plus side, when compared to my Bose headphones, multiple callers stated that these sounded just as good. br>br>Unfortunately, at this time, I must rate the call quality as Very Bad. After receiving a replacement pair, the problem persisted. br>I'm wondering if this is due to a software incompatibility with the Samsung Galaxy S8. Because the call quality is so poor, and I intended to use these for a lot of calls, I'm going to have to return them. The Fit: br>br> They're light, comfortable, and once you trust that they won't fall out, you'll forget they're even there. Music/Audio: br>br> That sounds fantastic. I'm not a $1000 headphone audiophile, so it has to sound clear, with defined highs and mids, and overall good. It has excellent sound quality. But there was a catch. I began to notice the same signal problem that I had been experiencing with the call quality. While watching/listening to a YouTube video and putting the phone in my pocket or walking away from it, only a few feet away, it appears that there is interference or that the reception is poor. It is constantly cutting out. This, once again, should not be happening. br>br>Active Noise Canceling: br>br>Active Noise Canceling: br>br>Active Noise C For ANC, I'd have to say my Bose QC35iis are the gold standard. That's a pretty high bar to clear. In terms of ANC technology, the Galaxy Buds Live are disappointing. If you're looking for the same level of noise cancellation as a good pair of over-the-ear or in-ear silicone tip ear buds, this won't cut it. I tried it out. br>br> You almost feel as if you notice the ANC effectiveness while sitting indoors in a relatively quiet environment. I noticed no ANC effect while walking down the street with moderate car/traffic noise; at best, it was an automatic battery drain. br>br>Wearable App: Good. Instead of the "canned" sound profiles, a more dynamic equalizer option would be nice. Overheating: br>br> I haven't found anything in the manual about this, but I believe they have an overheating prevention feature where the individual earbuds begin beeping continuously in your ear. The audio, in my case a podcast, continues to play, but a continuous beep is heard. Because I can't figure out why, I'm guessing it's an overheating warning. I was sitting outside, facing the sun on my left side. It wasn't particularly hot outside, and the left earbud didn't feel or get warm in my ear. It, on the other hand, continued to beep. General Performance: br>br>
- The following items can be found in the home office and elsewhere in the house: Not bad. The lightness of the design appeals to me. The audio and call reception and quality are good as long as my phone is in my hand and not in my pocket.
- When you're on the elliptical, you should: It's nice, it's comfortable, and it stays put. As you work up a sweat, move around a little more.
- Taking a walk outside: ANC is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people. existent. If it's a little windy, I also notice wind noise. When I say breezy, I'm referring to a light, sporadic breeze. There will be no hurricane.
- On a bike ride, there was a lot of wind noise, which was very off-putting. Unfortunately, this is infuriating.
- Microsoft Teams Online Meeting (Android App on Galaxy S8): It was said that I sounded distant and that the audio quality was poor. They said I sounded great as soon as I disconnected and dialed their number directly. br>br>Summary: br>br> At this point, I'm very disappointed. This is primarily due to reception issues, but the price is reasonable for what I had anticipated. However, for what they are, I'd rather pay a lot less for a pair of wireless headphones, because making calls with these doesn't appear to be a good feature right away. br>br>I got identical results after repeating the process with two different sets of GBLs and two different S8s. I'm hoping that, as previously stated, this is simply a compatibility issue with the S8. In the future, I'd like to spend some time editing this review to make it absolutely fantastic. br>br>Samsung phone support could be limited due to the fact that the phones are so new. There wasn't much troubleshooting help available because these had only been on the market for a few days. br>br>At this point, I've gone through two different sets of these and can't tell the difference. I'm not sure if I should send them back or not. I'm hoping they'll get it together. However, I'm finding that they aren't quite up to par.
