Questions & Answers
Shaving cream typically contains extra ingredients that are supposed to give you a smoother shave; I've been using Williams for years and enjoy it. I also like that I don't have to throw away a can every few months because I can recycle their cardboard box instead. (In addition, it is less expensive.) Of course, you'll need a shaving mug and a brush, both of which aren't particularly costly.
As shown, it comes in a cardboard box. When compared to shaving soap in cans, it's not much.
I'm not sure, but it shaves like no other. Look it up on the internet to see if you can find the ingredients.

I'm 68 years old and have used this soap intermittently since college, usually with a brush I inherited from my father. For a quick shave in the shower or on the road, I prefer aerosol, but I prefer this. The scent is light and pleasant, and it doesn't dry out quickly on the skin, so you can leave it on for a few minutes while your beard softens. It doesn't like hard water, as others have mentioned, and mastering how much water to use so that it doesn't go on too thick or thin takes some practice. But I've found no compelling reason to use any other shaving soaps, which are typically exorbitantly priced, whereas Williams Mug is about as inexpensive as it gets if you don't fall for shady retailers. The brush, not the soap, is the costly item here. Invest in a good badger-haired one. I've experimented with other types and always come to regret it. Here's a minor point to consider, but you may find the advice useful in the long run: Don't get a cup like the pewter one I have, which makes a grating noise when you bang the brush around in it; I often wish I had a shallow wooden bowl instead, but I've never been able to give up that really handsome pewter mug, even with its dwarf-like proportions. clap of anvil.
I should have known better by now that you get what you pay for, but I had a momentary lapse in judgment when I bought this cheap shave soap to save a few bucks. In the past, I've always relied on Van Der Hagen, which has never disappointed me. When it comes to this garbage soap, the first major drawback is the foul odor. It smells like one of the factory workers was eating lemon heads during his shift and dropped the entire box into this soap batch by accident. Furthermore, the lather it produces is subpar at best, as I have to rub my brush multiple times in the bowl to fully lather my beard (I never had this problem with the VDH). Bottom line: Spend a few extra dollars and buy a quality product unless you're stuck on a deserted island for days and need to shave for a meeting and your only option is to use one of these soap pucks you found at the beach while trying to flag down a rescue plane.
Once worked up, it produces a rich, foamy lather that feels great on the skin. Using warm water, wet your face first. I usually start by brushing my face with a hot wet brush, then work the soap into a lather and apply it to my face. The scent is appealing to me. It transports me to a bygone era. Also, at 6 bars, it's a good deal for the money, and it's far superior to canned foam.
I couldn't think of anything I didn't like about this product; it lathers well, feels smooth on the skin, and rinses cleanly. After shaving, my skin feels smooth and supple, and my aftershave lotion has no soap residue. This is fantastic; simply apply with a high-quality brush. My shave was extremely precise and thorough. You'll enjoy this product; I couldn't find any mug soap locally, so when I discovered this and it arrived, it was a pleasant surprise. Additionally, the cost is reasonable.
This is the world's best shaving soap. It was easy to get a rich, thick lather. Your face will be smooth and clean after using this product. I've paid three times the price for significantly lower results. You can't get much better than this when shaving with a brush and a mug. br>I like a little scent with my lather, so I added some lime oil, which elevates this soap to a new level. This is by far the best product I've ever used.
I was very pleased with this product, and I had been using this brand (Williams) for years when it was available. I prefer the lather and beard softening of this product to the canned, tub, and products available at local stores. I use soap and a good brush and have done so for years because I prefer it to the canned, tub, and products available at local stores. The price is excellent, especially when compared to some of the overpriced, lower-quality soaps available at specialty stores or on the internet.
For the past two years, I have shaved with William's Mug soap. I've tried a dozen or so soaps and lotions, and this is without a doubt my favorite. It's most likely a tie with my go-to lotion. br>br>I'm a big fan of the scent. When you use the right amount of water in your brush, you'll get a great lather. If you use too little water to lather it up, it will dry out (a little) on your face. That's your cue to revise your plans. br>br>After shaving, I enjoy how my face feels. I usually skip the aftershave and even the alum when I use this soap. It has an astringent quality to it: I have a tightness in my cheeks and neck. This is a matter of personal taste, as is the scent. As a result, you are free to disagree with everything I've said. But, at around a dollar and a half for a puck of this soap, why not give it a shot?.
I've paid top dollar for other brands, but this one is unbeatable. Although the Williams brand does not have all of the foo foo scents, it still works well and my lovely wife enjoys the fresh soap scent. I recently purchased another six-pack of pucks and intend to purchase more once these have been consumed. This brand is to be trusted!.
