Is this a triple milled product?

I'm not sure, but it's a very hard soap, so if I had to guess, I'd say it's triple killed. Long-lasting and durable. It smells fantastic. This was an excellent performance.

Decent
3/5

However, it's the equivalent of spending $20 on a bag of "premium" potato chips. When I first started wet shaving, I enlisted the help of a coworker. worker who also uses shave soap to wet shave. This one was revealed to me by him. As a result, I gave it a shot. To be honest, it's not a bad soap; it gets the job done. br>br>I've found that there are cheaper soaps out there that are more slick and develop a nicer lather in the same amount of time (let's be honest, you can get a nice lather out of anything if you bowl lather). You only need to spend a few more minutes making a lather). Stirling, for example, is a great tallow soap that produces a great lather and is super slick for a quarter of the price of this stuff. br>br>The clay scent that everyone raves about is present in AoS soap. For a sandalwood scent, it's quite floral. It's enjoyable, but I think TOBS or D are my favorites. The scent of Harris sandalwood is stronger. It's a hard soap that lasts a long time (and believe me, I don't skimp on brush loading when whipping up lather). In my opinion, it is preferable to have too much than not enough. br>br>AoS is very proud of their products, and they are well-liked by many people. I simply believe that there are many artisan soap makers who produce soaps that perform just as well as or better than AoS for a fraction of the price.

Sandalwood Extract in Block Form is a concentrated form of sandalwood extract
3/5

A sandalwood soap bowl was tossed out, as well as two other items. Due to the strong scent, 5 oz. sandalwood shave cream is not recommended. It looks like burned oil from a full-size truck's failed rear differential. I tried several times to wash my hands and face with a different soap, but the sandalwood still lingered. For the past ten years, I've used other versions of this product and recently decided to give the sandalwood scent another shot. Other versions had such a light scent that they were barely noticeable, but this is clearly not the same product; while it works well as a shave soap, its primary function appears to be as an intensely strong sandalwood cologne. If you want to wear cologne, I wouldn't recommend using this soap because the scent is just as strong and long-lasting.

I'm disappointed, but I'd appreciate a replacement
3/5

This was given to me as a Father's Day present. It was intended to take the place of my beloved TAOS shave soap. My old one didn't expire until recently, which is why my review has taken so long. br>br>This one isn't as good as my first, and the foam isn't as strong. The foam dissipates on one side before I finish shaving the other side because the bubbles are large. The sound of bubbles popping is actually quite unpleasant. I've tried increasing and decreasing the amount of water used, but the results remain the same - a dissipating foam that is very weak. br>br>I'd like a replacement because I know my original product was excellent and this one must be defective. br>br>I'm hoping TAOS notices this and is willing to replace it. My review will be updated as soon as possible.

The bowl is an added bonus to an otherwise excellent product
5/5

What exactly is it? Shaving soap and a wooden bowl with a lid are required. What I liked about it: br>br> br>First and foremost - the soap: br>Excellent scent and quality. This is the first time I've used shaving soap, and this is the first time I've used the Sandalwood scent - I can't think of a better way to spend my time! br>br>The fragrance is strong but not overwhelming - It's one of my favorites, but it does leave a lingering odor in the bathroom (so if you have someone in your home who has an allergy or sensitivity to certain foods, don't use it). be aware! )br>br>The soap lathers up nicely (I use an Edwin Jagger brush) and lasts a long time (especially when compared to shaving cream!). I only shave once or twice a week, but after a few weeks of use, I've barely scratched the surface. It wouldn't surprise me if it went on for another six months. Second - br>br>Second - br>br>Second - br>br>S the bowl: br>Better quality than I had anticipated. It's made of wood and has a lovely lid / top that goes well with any bathroom's decor. br>br>There should be no problem getting the bowl wet (at least so far), and it can be re-used. When the soap runs out, it can be refilled. I'm not sure what other soap brands would fit in the bowl, but Art of Shaving soaps can be purchased separately from the bowl, so there's that. a viable option br>br>What I didn't like about it:br>None, I adore everything about it. br>br>Would I buy it again/recommend it? Yes, it's a good product; I'd buy it again and recommend it to others.

Messy Experiment at a Cost: Returning to the old mug
3/5

It's very appealing, but it's a shambles. Because of the low sides, soap foam spills all over the place. And the only way to keep it in your hand while loading the shaving brush is to rest your thumb on the soap. I'll go back to my traditional high-sided mug with a handle because the soap appears to be fine but is extremely expensive.

Great product
5/5

It's a very nice product that's super slick and takes care of the majority of my annoyances. It has a light sandalwood scent that isn't overpowering. When whipping a lather, it fits snugly in the wooden brown, so the soap does not spin. I've gone straight from the soap to my face, as well as from the soap to a mug, then back to my face. It's fine either way. This product is more expensive than many others, but it will last a long time; after a month of 5x week use, I haven't even scrubbed the brand stamp off the soap.

Soap that has been reformulated to be inferior! This is not the tallow version of the soap
3/5

br>The soap has been reformulated! br>It doesn't lather up as well as the original. Despite the fact that Sodium Tallowate is listed as an ingredient and that it is manufactured in Italy, The following are the current ingredients, according to the art of shaving website: br>Potassium Palmitate, Sodium Palmitate, Potassium Stearate, Potassium Palm Kernelate, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Glycerin, Water (Aqua), Palm Kernel Acid, Fragrance, Tocopheryl Acetate, Pentasodium Pentetate, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate, Pentasodium Pentetate, Tetra Isomethyl Ionone, Coumarin, Hexyl Cinnamal, Titanium Dioxide (CI77981), Iron Oxides (CI 77492), Iron Oxides (CI 77499), Iron Oxides (CI77491)br>There is no tallow in this product, and it is now made in the United States.

This is one of the best shaving soaps on the market
5/5

The product has a pleasant aroma and a rich lather, which makes for a great shave. The soap will last several months and is well worth the money, in my opinion. It's free of the harsh chemicals found in most shave products (for a comparison, go to the Environmental Working Group's website).
