Hello puravida, the ones on Alibaba are fakes; they stole our pictures and product descriptions from our website, and the soap, as well as the boxes, are made in the United States, not China. We're currently working with Alibaba to remove the fake product listings.
Everyone's sense of smell is different, but it smells fresh to me, like a river or a forest.

But, because my skin has become more sensitive as a result of shaving with soap alone, I've been looking for a better alternative to shaving cream. It's no longer a financial concern for me, but I'd like to leave less of a carbon footprint by discarding empty bottles, cans, and spray cans, among other things. br>I'm glad I found this. It comes in a small cardboard box, and it appears to have been used every day for a few weeks. It will outlast a tube of shaving cream. To tell you the truth, I had no idea how to get it to foam properly when I first got it. I bought it with the bowl, so I figured I'd cut a piece off, drop it in, soak it for a few minutes, and stir it with the brush. Clearly, this was a failure. I learned how to do it from a YouTube video and was surprised at how easy it was. Simply put it in a bowl, soak the brush in it, and then stir the puck in the bowl until it foams up nicely. It feels much smoother during and after shaving, which I really like. I also bought it for my father. br>br>In case you didn't know, I bought the AKStore bowl to go with it, and it barely fits in there. You can force it in and get it to work with a little more mess outside the bowl, but I just bought a bigger bowl to keep the mess inside. br>br>UPDATE 12/03/17: On September 7th, I purchased this puck, and on September 10th, I began using it. It's December, and the volume has dropped to about half of what it was (I shave once a day). I'd say I'm getting a lot of bang for my buck with this product; I'll never use shaving cream again, and I won't have to use the "can" anymore, yay!.
I bought this soap and an Edwin Jagger Badger Hair Brush, as well as the Vikings Blade soap bowl, after doing some research on the best reviewed products for his coarse beard hair. "The brush and soap," he said precisely. Oh my god, this is f***ing amazing! I had no idea what I had been missing out on. I don't even think I need aftershave!"br>br>For me, that's proof enough: He had the company's emailed instructions, and we also followed another reviewer's advice of "a few hot water drops on the soap for a few minutes and swirling the brush on it for a count of 30. " "br>It makes me want to try it on my legs because, due to my sensitive skin, I've had to resort to shaving with grapeseed oil.
I like a light sandalwood scent, which this is, but I think I'll try adding ground cloves or cinnamon to the next batch (I might end up smelling like a French bakery). br>br>A few years ago, I wrote a review of another product I tried (that claimed to smell like sandalwood but actually smelled like a petroleum refinery disaster). br>br>The way this soap reacts in a microwave oven is one of its best features. When one puck wears out (one puck lasts me over six months), I simply add another to the remaining pucks and put my shaving-brush on top of it. Microwave the soap bowl for 20 seconds, then stir together the melted glop and set it aside. Alternatively, if the soap has worn through at the bottom and no longer adheres to the bowl, 20 seconds of nuking will bring it back to a smooth pool. br>br>(Comments about squeezing the soap into the bowl perplexed me: Guys, this is why Litton Industries was established! Microwave the soap and let it float! )br>br>And if you're looking for a pair of razor-sharp blades, I suggest the Feather: I'm sure there's a way to make the link shorter, but who has time for that? In addition, I'm not sure how the image became sideways. I believe we'll make it. ).
I'm not sure how long this soap will last because I only use my straight razor once a week as a form of meditation, but the scent is very distinct and pleasant. It's difficult to describe, but I'll try: the scent is light and appears to be a perfect blend of Musk and Cedar to me. It's unmistakably a man's scent, but I imagine it'd appeal to discerning females as well. I say suspect because I use it on Sunday and by Monday morning, the scent is gone before I go to work and mingle with women, thanks to the morning shower and all. If I ever start dating again, I'm confident that the scent will appeal to the ladies. By the way, I've been shaving once a week for a few months and still have plenty of soap.
I don't have much to compare it to because this is my first foray into shaving soaps. Also, keep in mind that I'm new to the DE process, but I figured I'd express my thoughts regardless. br>br>1) Thick, rich lather. That's a feature I really enjoy. It was simple to work up enough steam for my head with my brush, and the next day I did my legs (I'm a triathlete). I don't think I used much of it, so it should last quite a while. br>br>2) The shave on my head, beneath my neck, and on my legs was smooth and comfortable. It was exceptional under my neck, which was very nice. My head shave was also excellent, which is no easy task when dealing with the sensitive skin of your scalp. br>br>3) The scent is the only thing that makes me like this soap. It has a pleasant aroma, but I can't detect it. According to reviews and videos of other soaps at a similar price, it should perform just as well and leave a pleasant scent in my bathroom. If you want a soap with a light scent, this is a good choice. However, you could probably find better scents and soaps at a lower price point.
