A very sturdy item as well. There is a lot of quality workmanship going into this shaving bowl. A sturdy shaving brush that is plenty big enough to get the job done. Has no adverse effect upon the material when it comes into contact with water or soap. Moreover, its rustic and old school feel is also very pleasing to the eye. This is a highly recommended book.
The wooden bowl I chose for our dinner is the perfect size to fit my needs. has a large crack of approximately 2 1/2" on the inside, which appears to go all the way to the outside. The crack on the outside measures approximately 1 1/2 inches. Inspect the splits on both the inside and outside, and you can clearly see the spots where wood putty was used to fill them in and then stained over. Since I did not purchase this to use as a shaving bowl that will constantly be in water, I didn't need a damp environment to use it. I acquired the bowl with the intention of using it as a photo prop and I'm confident it will work well since it's so attractive. I would have been thrilled with the quality and craftsmanship if I had received one without a split.
The product I purchased for my husband initially didn't seem to excite him, but after using it for a while he grew to like it. He enjoys it a lot. Besides looking good, it sounds great as well.
