Maybe their description is a little off? It measures exactly 2 3/8" and fits perfectly in my standard-size compact.

This powder puff is a great replacement for the one that came with my Lancôme powder compact, and it's of higher quality. The width is 2 1/4" and the thickness is not excessive. It has a satin top and a velvet bottom with a sponge inside; I would buy it again.
I don't usually use powder puffs, but I wanted to give it a try with the Laura Mercier Setting powder because you have to buy the puff separately, which is around $20. I read the reviews and decided to give these puffs a try because they were popular and could be purchased in stores. I'm glad I did! They are extremely comfortable to wear and fit perfectly in my container.

These are my favorites because they're the perfect size for a pressed powder compact, which can be difficult to come by in stores. They're soft but tough, and they're made of real cotton rather than spongy stuff.
This book comes highly recommended.
It could use a little more fluff. For only two of these, the price is a little high. It's of average quality. It's not quite as fluffy as I'd like it to be.
The product is of excellent quality, and it was delivered quickly. In a regular sz, it fits perfectly. It's small and compact, which is ideal for applying powder foundation.
