About a year and a half ago, I started taking Proactiv, I used it for the suggested 6 months, and I saw no improvement. In fact, in the beginning, I even saw an increase in inflammation and cystic acne, a condition that I did not have before taking it. then stopped using it for a while, and my skin cleared up a bit but then became very oily and breakout prone so I decided to try the product again—in case perhaps I missed something the first time. After nearly 8 months with no improvement I stopped using it. Despite my best efforts, my skin has not gotten better and in fact has become very dry, flakey and oily in some areas. It is not a product that I recommend to anyone, however, I'm sure it has worked for some people, so maybe it will work for you too.
