Remington S5500 1" Anti-Static Flat Iron with Floating Ceramic Plates and Digital Controls, Hair Straightener, Purple

The flat iron I'm using has been around for nearly two years. So far, it has worked pretty well until about a week ago when it started to shock me right where the power cable connects. As I was using it today, there was a loud pop, I saw a flash, I felt a zap, and I saw smoke. The enclosed photo shows what I mean. I was burned on my arm by a spark from the end of the iron, where it was connected to the cord. As you can imagine, I threw it away. Make sure you do your research before purchasing.

There is a strong chemical smell and plastic is melting. All things considered, a straightening iron will do decent work on your hair. My hand started to hurt within minutes because the iron only touches in an inch and a half area (as shown in the picture) and you have to squeeze it tightly to use the entire iron. Because you have to squeeze it so tightly, your hair becomes tangled with the iron. The idea of this not damaging hair is beyond me. After I sent an email to the seller, a replacement was sent Even the replacement has the exact same problem when it comes to the iron not being flush. There is a cheap quality to this product. I smelled like melting plastic in my bathroom and hair after using this. This is disappointing, so I will need to drive 33 minutes to UPS (which is where I live) to return it a second time and buy a higher quality one next time. I encourage you to avoid making the same mistake I did and not waste your time with it.

I have no choice but to pull my hair with the floating irons. When I use high heat, my hair is barely warm enough to straighten when I use this method. I have easy to straighten hair and this takes twice as long as it used to.

I am glad I was The flat iron heats up quickly, is easy to use and I was able to achieve beautiful curls as my first time using one. Additionally, I accidentally discovered two locking mechanisms when I went to curl my hair - one for the temperature and another for keeping the iron closed while curling!.

I waited too long to return it, so it's no longer in my possession. I would rather burn down my house for a $20 flat iron than buy one.

The manual says anti-static, but it doesn't seem to be. This is a terrible straightener, it says "anti static" but it should actually be called "static inducer. " There is something wrong with this product, since it is cheaply made and has a poor performance. Don't spend your money on it.

I've burned, I mean straightened, my hair for over 15 years and it is the best. The one I bought last year was the same I tried a few others before buying this one once Straightening, detangling, and curling my hair with this product is my favorite. As the spokesperson, I would be glad to talk about this product. You can listen to the hint if you want. No, but all silliness aside, there's only one thing you've got to do hit "buy now".

Spending a little more money on a better-quality item would be a good idea Product of high quality. This product is not of high I felt like I was using a toy as it felt coarse through my hair, left creases in my hair, and it felt like a toy once I took it away. It would also be useless to use this straightener to curl hair.
