This blow dryer has been in my possession for one year, four months, and twenty-six days. I finally put this jerk to rest today. It ended in a spectacular blaze of glory. I really mean it. Fortunately, all of my hair is still on my head, and I was unharmed when my blow dryer died. This thing caught fire! It screamed like a demon, which should have been my cue to turn it off, but noooooo. I took advantage of the opportunity. I was able to use it despite the odor of cigarette smoke. as well as the scream and then. FIRE. When smoke billowed from the dryer and a small fire was visible in the back, I turned it off. It goes without saying. I'm in the market for a new car. Until then, my hair will be wet and strangely frizzy. This dryer was used nearly every day I owned it (513 days), it has traveled internationally, across state lines, I have used it while inebriated, and on days when I didn't want to use it at all, thus the 5 stars. It was good for everything it gave until it didn't, and I could be bald right now if it hadn't been for that. The scream, on the other hand, was an alert. A warning I would heed in order to save my hair from the stench of burning and the odd burnt appearance. I recommend this blow dryer, and if it begins to scream at you, pay attention.

After reading online that the xtava Black Orchid diffuser would fit this Conair Ion Shine dryer, I bought it. After removing the diffuser's inner ring, I was able to pop the diffuser on, though it was a tight fit that required some effort!br>br>I ordered the dryer in the glossy orange color because it was the cheapest option ($22) and had Prime shipping. I wish there were more color options (black would be nice), but I prefer the glossy finish to the "soft touch" versions because the matte finish always peels off for me. The dryer came in a box with warranty information, instructions/safety manual, a straightening attachment, and a diffuser. The attachments are unlikely to be used. The included diffuser is significantly smaller and flatter than the xtava, as you can see in the photo I included. There are three heat settings on the dryer: br>br> cool, warm, and hot are all adjectives that can be used to describe the temperature of something. as well as two speeds: There are two levels of difficulty. There's also a cool shot button on it. In reality, I find that the cool shot button is closer to room temperature, and the other settings are simply different heat levels. It's light without being cheap, and the filter is removable, which I appreciate. It has a slight plastic-like flavor to it. When running, there's a distinct odor that I'm hoping will fade with time. br>br>In the shower, I scrunch my fine 2b wavy hair with gel to diffuse it (known as the "scrunch out the crunch" or SOTC method). After putting on a t-shirt, I use this dryer with the xtava diffuser on "cool" heat and low speed after drying my shirt for 5 minutes and scrunching out some excess water. It's simple to switch between them while drying with just one hand. It takes about 15 minutes to dry completely. I can dry in 20 minutes instead of 3 hours when I air dry. The waves are then revealed by scrunching out the hard gel cast. br>br>Overall, the dryer has performed admirably for the past few months and is compatible with the diffuser. I'm only going to use it once or twice a week, so I'm hoping it will last a long time!.

For many years, I have been a CONAIR fan and have used their products consistently. With that said, I carefully read all of the reviews, both positive and negative, in the hopes of gaining a true picture of the product. Is it possible to use this hair dryer? Yes. Is the price reasonable? Yes, now for my reservations. br> Most hair dryers don't come with cords that are longer than 60 inches (5 feet). I measured two previous hair dryers and found that both were over 8 feet long, with lengths of over 100 inches! I called two friends and asked them to measure their dryer cords, and they both came up with the same result (8 feet or more). The noise level is next, and this dryer appears to be quite loud. I'm not looking for absolute silence, just something that is reasonable, but it sounds like a high-pitched jet engine is going off in my ear. Finally, but certainly not least. . . It didn't dry my hair any faster than a regular dryer, in my opinion. My hair had the same appearance and functioned in the same way. I have no intention of returning. I'll save it for a second dryer or donate it to Good Will. I'll keep looking for a Hair Dryer with better performance and, most importantly, a longer cord!.

I thought I was doomed to be disappointed in hair dryers forever because there is no way I could/would spend that much money on a dyson, but it was fantastic and dried my thick, long hair in record time; I thought I was doomed to be disappointed in hair dryers forever because there is no way I could/would spend that much money on a dyson. When I looked for similar hair dryers, this was the only one on the list that was affordable. I was literally blown away the first time I used Conair's hair dryer! This lightweight, easy-to-hold hairdryer has a lot of power. It dries my hair much faster than any other hair dryer I've ever owned, and it takes about the same amount of time as the Dyson. This hair dryer's only flaw is that it's a little too loud. However, I am more than willing to accept the noise level in exchange for quickly dried hair.

This hair dyer is not to be taken lightly! This thing is a hurricane of air! I couldn't use the highest setting because the low was sufficient for me. Don't be fooled like me into thinking that because the colors are pretty and the design is sleek, it must be good. For me, this was a huge no-no. I gave it a chance by using it twice, but it didn't work for me. My thick hair became thinner as a result, but not in a good way. It does not get particularly hot, which some people may appreciate; however, I would prefer much hotter air. Until I can find a more efficient air dryer, I'm going to have to rely on my old but reliable air dryer.
