The smell is the only downside. All the claims that it makes are true. The gel can even be used in place of gel in many situations. The two I purchased were different. I do not remember if I had to buy them at that time I have both of them sat in my vanity for most of the time. My hair has a lot of wave, and a pea-sized amount of the conditioner seemed to calm it. read a warning, I don't like the smell of the product. There was just no way I could stand the odor surrounding My recommendation is not to do so.
