I had high expectations for this product, but it, like my hair, fell flat after use. The inclusion of kaolin clay piqued my interest because I have straight, fine, oily hair that I slick back, and kaolin provides me with the matte texture and volume I require. Although this product provided the promised "gritty" texture, it lacked in the hold department, despite the fact that it claims to be a "high hold, maximum control" product - Simply put, this isn't the case. My hair was out of control, and no matter how much product I used, it kept falling to the sides. Even with a pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing pre-exist This product, styler, simply did not live up to expectations. It has a pleasant odor to it. malty, but not overpowering - It also has a good consistency that is creamy and easy to apply. As a result, 3 stars if you're looking for a good clay product that adds texture to your hair while maintaining a low level of hold. Following my experience with this product, I switched to O'Douds Matte Paste, which is far superior and not significantly more expensive.
TL; DRbr>The finish on this product is extremely dry and sticky. It makes the hair clumpy and difficult to manage. br>br>I was excited to try this product because I've had good results with other Redken products, but I needed something to go with my slightly longer hair style (around 3" on top). br>br>On the first day, I tried applying it to damp hair the same way I do with my regular hair product, and the result was a stiff, dry, and slightly tacky mass of hair after it had air dried completely. br>br>On the second day, I tried completely drying my hair first, then working in a little at a time, but I had to give up because the hair was matting together and making styling impossible. br>br>I imagine this product would work well for people with very short, oily hair, but it's not going to work for the average medium-length men's haircut.
It's fantastic - Similar to other clays, but softer and easier to scoop out and distribute at first, before drying out and becoming tacky. br>br>The hold is excellent, and a small amount goes a long way. br>br>I have a few other clays that I like but don't use very often because they're difficult to work with. This appears to work just as well as the previous method, but with much less effort. If you're looking for a clay and a product with a lot of hold and a natural look, this is the one to go with. br>br>Because the lid was dented when it arrived, I'm not sure if it will hold tight or if the clay will dry out and become useless over time.
It's the one I prefer out of the three. br>It can be applied to wet or dry hair without leaving a greasy residue, and it has a medium hold.
I would never buy this product again; it has a decent texture, but you don't want it on you after a few hours because the texture becomes extremely sticky. Good luck.
The medium hold style was sold to me by a hair stylus, so I bought this brand. I wanted to try the "max hold" style, but it's far too thick for my hair, making it feel greasy and thick. I'll most likely return to the medium grip. However, the brand is a good one.
I've experimented with Aveda clay, Mitch clay, and other brands of clay. These are both excellent products, but Redken Brews has more body and holds my hair better without weighing it down. It's less expensive per unit than these, and given the performance and price, I can live with the smell. It's become my go-to product. to a product for the purpose of providing all-in-one-solution volume and hold for the entire day Thank you, Redken Brews, for creating a fantastic hair product!.
After watching a youtuber talk about the ten things he never leaves the house without, my 9-year-old son requested this. I've tried a lot of hair products on my son's thick, straight hair, and this is the only one that actually works to keep it in place, no matter how crazy he styles it. My son dislikes the shiny look of wet hair, so this leaves his hair looking dry, soft, and matte. This thick cream with a mild scent goes a long way with just a small amount. Love it!.
