There is a problem with this product as it is not genuine. For some reason I am no longer ordering from them when I had been for quite some time. The product now seems flaky, smells like chemicals, and does not hold as it once did, so putting it in your hair at night may not be a good idea. You will end up with a mess all over the place. The moment I noticed something that was out of place, I went to return it, thinking that it was a bad batch. Soon though, I realized it was just a false batch. You can tell a huge difference between the products from Johnny B and the ones from Amazon. The result is I now have a product that smells horrible and doesn't even work. Having raised my concerns and gotten backlash, I should have known what I was getting into. Now that I have learned a valuable lesson, I hope you all have too. I promise you, it's worth it just to spend the extra $2 You can buy from the site if you're three and up.

It's not a good thing for me. The barber/hairdresser sister of the person who recommended this product to me told me that it was great. The styling gel I have been using for over 4 years is the only thing I use (I do use Schwarzkopf's hair gel when traveling on account of the bottle being too big to carry around, but don't like the way the Schwarzkopf's gel sticks to I like Johnny B's gel a lot because I have soft hair that flattens out without any hair products. It is really versatile too because you can apply it the way it is or rub it with wet hands before applying to your hair to hold stubborn flyaways. As well, a simple rinse in the shower is all that is necessary to remove it. As long as I live, I don't think I'll ever switch hair gels.
It has a medium hold that can easily be washed out in the shower and gives you a good amount of product for the price. My biggest issue is the smell at first, I liked the cologne scent but it no longer suits me. I really do think it reminds me of roach spray when it says that it is a fresh type of scent. One day, my wife totally nailed it with the roach spray scent. I was having a hard time finding the scent that reminded me of something. There may be others who won't get this benefit from using the product but, for me, I am simply going to return to my "Gentlemen" hair gel that I have been using for years.

It appears that the product I have received is genuine, having been purchased from Top Shelf Brands. However, I did receive the older packaging, which is the clear container instead of the new gray containers, but that doesn't bother me too much as long as it's not As stated in other reviews, the gel is smooth and creamy and is not clumpy or filled with air bubbles. Moreover, there is a pleasant smell to it and it does not overpower. The price is great for the value you get.
