You can. You are not obligated to do so. If I want to color my hair and keep it that color, I paint it on while it's still dry, then cover it with a shower cap and leave it for an hour before showering. Then, when I shower, I simply wet my hair and the color shampoo lathers, then I rinse it out and don't use another shampoo.
That's what I did, and it worked. To wash in, put on gloves. My hair felt great after using it.
When your hair is dry, apply it to light/bleached hair and leave it on for 10 minutes or longer (they recommend 5 minutes if you don't want as bold of a color, but I leave it on for 10). You then wash it out with cold water after 15 minutes. Because the dye is also a shampoo and conditioner, you won't need anything else. It has a bubblegum-like scent to it. So yummy
Yes, I've used it on graying medium-brown hair. It darkens the brown and gives it a glistening effect, as well as turning some of the gray hairs a lighter purple for a highlighted effect, which is nice. However, some gray or white hairs are "resistant gray" and refuse to take color no matter what I do. Don't be surprised if you end up with a few stubborn white hairs that refuse to take color.

Update : It has been four months since we last saw each other. If you use this frequently, the blue will not fade. Due to excessive bleeding on my white shirts, I'm using it less frequently. But, even if I only use it once a week and leave it on my hair for five minutes, it's still effective. It takes 10 minutes and results in much less bleeding. Right now, I'm on my third bottle. br>Review from the start: br>About six weeks ago, I had my hair professionally colored with a heavy midnight blue highlight. My hair hasn't faded since I started using this shampoo and conditioner. There isn't even a smidgeon of a chance of that happening. It leaves a blue stain. br> This is exactly how it should be. It means your hair, scalp, skin, nails, pillow, and nightgown (around the neck) are not discriminated against (LOL). is going to turn blue br>Alcohol will easily wipe off my skin, nails, and other body parts. Clorox might be required to clean your shower tiles. I use clear gloves in the shower and they turn 100% blue after shampoo. br>I recommend this to anyone who wants to keep their midnight blue hair color for a long time and is willing to make sacrifices.
I lightened my hair at different levels, which looks nice in my hair, but I couldn't wait to color it. I was skeptical when I first saw this shampoo, because my hair doesn't take colors well, as I'd learned from previous experience. I went ahead and did it anyway, and now I'm completely enamored with it! br>Because it will stain things, it should be handled as if it were a professional dye. But with 91% alcohol I got it off my skin and everything else I got it off my body and everything else I got it off my body and I just hung a towel over the sink in the bathroom. gloves were worn! It has a strong bubble gum scent and left my wild hair with a strong mixed curl pattern that was DETANGLED, SOFT, and HEALTHY. br>My only wish is that they had something like an Emerald Green Wash-.
My hair is brown by nature, but I dye it black with Schwarzkopf hair color. But, at 53, I do have those pesky "white" hairs that appear after a few weeks of coloring (mine are white, not grey). Unfortunately, hair color only lasts a certain amount of time, and if I kept up with my coloring, I'd be coloring my hair black once a month - no way - excessively harmful So, in between colorings, I use Arctic Fox (any color I choose shows up on white hair), and then I buy the N Rage shampoo in the coordinating color to keep the color going until I want to do Schwartzkopf again - My hair is healthier than it has ever been, and I get to experiment with colors - it's perfect.
I put the color in, combed it through my gray hair, and rinsed it out after 5 minutes. My gray hair has turned a beautiful golden blonde color! N Rage color depositing shampoo has been a great success for me.
I was so disappointed because I had previously used this brand; DO NOT USE THE BROWN! It will completely ruin your hair and has a revolting odor. To mask the chemical odor, I had to use hair spray. After using this, I'm really worried about my hair.
Because I have bleached hair, color adheres well to it. But, because I don't like having color added to my hair, I'll either have to live with it for the next five years or find another way. I experimented with 6 weeks or having it wash out in two shampoos and be barely noticeable. I didn't want a full-on color, so I used a quarter-sized amount of shampoo and a smidgeon of white conditioner. I added this randomly to my hair after washing it with my regular shampoo (which removes most of the previous color) and pulling it up in strands from root to tip (I have very short hair). I only leave it in for about 15 seconds before rinsing! When it's finished, all I've done is added color highlights to my blonde hair, which I can change at any time!.
The blonde was my purchase. My dark blonde hair needed to be lightened up. It didn't work for me. My hair turned a darker shade of brown as a result of it.
