Three times, I have ordered this product and used it. Every time I use this product, I get a little better at using it. It straightens the hair very quickly, so if you only want a few soft curls or waves, do not leave on too long.
I use this to comb my daughter's hair because it makes it loose. We have had to keep her hair very short for several years, as she would physically fight me every time she felt like she was going to lose it. Both of us felt a great deal of anxiety as a result. She could not fall because the coils on the back of her head were so tight. Following the lathering of her hair, I did comb through the coils at the nape of her neck, just to make sure it was straight. In the past four hours, I have combed her hair three or four times just for today. The puffs or twists I will be placing tomorrow are very exciting to me. I forgot to mention, there was no damage either! The one who fears this will damage her hair needs to understand that combing her natural hair was far more damaging when she wouldn't let me.
My hair is naturally curly, and I just wanted to refresh it instead of let it dry and stiffen. It is highly recommended that you immediately wash it out so that you don't.
This is a great product when you want straight hair, but it doesn't work well for just a little blowout when you have kinky hair.
After a couple of months, my daughter's hair is now straight as a twig! My hair has always been quite curly, so I wanted it softer and easier to manage. Hair that has been relaxed is not bone straight. The smell of lye is definitely there! It was burning so badly and my daughter was crying so bad I couldn't even leave it on the entire 7 minutes before I took it out. She might not have any hair left if I did because I wouldn't have been able to do that! A regular adult perm in a kid's box. A "regular" perm at an adult price.
The oil and conditioner work well together, but if I had it to do over again, I would cut it with more oil. The instructions also urge you to process for only about 11 minutes instead of 15 I probably would have gotten the exact results I wanted if I had done this. There are more curls than I would have liked but I am happy with this change. 4a/4b is the color of my hair. Originally from Africa A hair type that is characteristic of American women. The overall result is that I'm less prone to frizz, and my hair is more manageable.
Take the time to read through The product does not relax the scalp nor burn it. Using this method, I changed the curl pattern in my 15 year old daughter's curly afro course hair to a 4 c curly afro. While it was being processed, she did not complain of burning and you are not supposed to brush it because it will straighten out. It's now a lot easier for her to manage her hair and it's super soft.
