Since I'm not a hairdresser, I can't help you. I did want to cut about 6 inches off of my hair since I have extremely long hair. You can use these at home without any problems.

There's no point in trying

The Barbara scissors are great, but they are very short-lived as far as the sharpening is concerned, it was completely gone within a month of using it to cut hair.
