For three years, I have been using red Light Mountain henna dye and have been very happy with the experience and the results. However, I wanted to try something with blue undertones rather than the copper tones I had been wearing and I wasn't able to locate one. Due to the fact that I had forgotten how to do it, I watched several YouTube tutorials. This was the right thing for me to do. The grey hairs on my head are half mine. There is a lot of salt and pepper in this. As a result of a couple of medical issues, I have moved away from boxed hair dyes that are laden with harsh chemicals over the past couple of years. In those years, I have used a variety of semi-permanent and demi-permanent dyes, but due to my grey hair, they are not semi or demi permanent. The hair dyes would require me to use them almost daily just to keep the color in my very stubborn grey hair. In order to try Henna, I thought I would try it first. When I wear purple, I usually go with a very dark shade. A favorite color of mine is red. My henna mix smelled awful when I mixed it. Oh, my Lord, it was awful! I don't like pee! As a result, I mixed a few drops of essential oil in it to conceal the smell. The decision I made has been a great one. It has made a huge difference. There was a sign on the box indicating that the colorent should remain on for 30 minutes There is a 40 minute delay. Although my experience with grey hair told me to leave it on longer ( as did a couple of YouTube videos ) I mixed it until it was a gravy consistency, and started at the roots in the front of my hair bit by bit to ensure the tough gray hairs were covered. As soon as my hair started to dry and get caky, I grabbed the spray bottle I use for my plants, and kept it moist. My arm was then tied around my head, and I sprayed a final coat of water on every spiky leaf, making sure that every root was covered. The crinkly bag got stuck on my head while I went to sleep, and I woke up seven hours later , found it and rinsed it out. Right away, I could tell that it worked. The color of purple on my hair looks like I used a boxed hair dye, though it is not as vibrant as I would really like it to be. The gray hair in my head has been colored over. The first thing you notice is how dark my hair is. There is no brassy color, but rather a nice warm very dark brown with a hint of wine. This product provided me with excellent results , and I highly recommend it. I would like to tell other shoppers a couple of things. Initially, there was a slight sting while applying the dyes, similar to that of box dyes, but that quickly went away. Additionally, I would like to mention. My hair is very thick , but, it's very short, styled in a bob style in keeping with the 1920s. Two boxes should be sufficient for hair that is shoulder length, and three boxes should be adequate for hair that extends down the back. In fact, I plan to buy two boxes of this product when I order it again next time, because even for my shart hair, I will reorder it. The third thing I need to inform other consumers is that, after the dye was rinsed out, my hair felt very dry.
