It won't work on white hair, but it will work on black hair. Henna is not a hair lightener. White hair is the only hair that henna colors.
"May I use Surya Henna coloring either before or after a chemical process?" says the manufacturer in its FAQ section. "br>br>"Yes, but test a strand first before using henna on ammonia-bleached hair. Surya henna will not lighten hair because its ingredients are much better for hair than ammonia, which is found in most commercial permanent dyes.
I wear one because my hair falls just below my shoulders. My hair isn't particularly thick or thin, but I do have a lot of it. Why not get two and keep one on hand in case something goes wrong with the first?
I chose a darker shade of brown, a little darker than my natural color, assuming only that you want to keep using henna. Even as the color faded, the coppery appearance vanished.

Because I was looking for a medium brown color and it wasn't available in this cream, I combined light brown and chocolate. I started with a dark brown, which turned out to be extremely dark. I've never had chocolate on its own. It never gets washed out when I leave it for 3 hours. I've been using this brand for 6 months, so Surya is about 3 1/2 inches long and regular hair dye is the rest. It has a slight red tint to it, but it isn't overpowering.

I've had a severe allergic reaction to hair color for the past three years - Both in the salon and in over-the-counter products. It's getting worse, and it's excruciatingly painful and inconvenient. First and foremost, I am not allergic to this substance. Second, I'm a big fan of the color. My hair has a subtle auburn tint to it, which I like. Finally, it has covered my grays better than any other PPD product I've tried. The only drawback is that it's a little more difficult to apply to your hair (which could just be because I'm not used to it) and that you have to leave it on for 60 minutes. However, all you have to do is put on a shower cap and spend the hour doing whatever it is you need to get done around the house. Overall, it's a small price to pay for vibrant color, fewer grays, and, most importantly, relief from pain!.
Because Just For Men causes an itchy, bloody rash on my scalp, and because Grecian is no longer allowed to use lead acetate in its products, henna is the only way I can get rid of my gray hair. It only lasts 3–4 days, but the color is very similar to my previous hair color. I simply shampoo, dry, and apply henna with a few tissues, then wash it out after about 30 minutes. It's pricey, but it's the only option.
I really wanted to like this dye because it was simple to use and appeared to be safer than other dyes. I've used a wide range of hair dyes throughout my life, from traditional PPD-laden boxed dye to henna, and this was the only one that caused scalp dermatitis. My scalp itched a lot for the first week after I started using it, and I'm still itching moderately four weeks later. This is a dye that I do not recommend.
I was blown away when I rinsed out the product after leaving it in for the recommended 30 minutes for superior gray coverage. I did use a "detangler" product for conditioning (Paul Mitchell detangler), and my hair feels wonderful, is beautifully covered, and every bit of gray has now turned to a beautiful golden blonde, so it appears as if I've streaked my hair a little, which is fine. I chose light brown, and as I previously stated, my hair had been color treated golden three months prior to application. I think the coloring chart is accurate, and I followed the instructions exactly as they were written on the box. I'm very happy with it. My hair is the color of my natural hair, with natural highlights, and it is as soft as silk. I used the blow dryer to'separate' my hair strands, then had my 14-year-old son inspect them and report whether or not he saw grays and what color they were. No gray, he said, and everything appears to be golden blonde or brown in color. It appears to be gleaming and healthy. This product is one that I would and have recommended, and one that I will buy again. There was no odor, there was no burning, there were no fumes, there was nothing but nature. It appeals to me. BUY, BUY, BUY; doing it myself instead of going to the salon every six weeks saved me a lot of money.
This is even better than I had hoped! My advice is to leave it in for as long as possible, at least an hour. There was no burning or irritation, and it completely covered the gray. And it arrived in record time! I'm so glad I came across this!.
I'm disappointed because my gray hair was not covered by Henna cream. I've got a few gray hairs on my head. I apply a generous amount of henna cream to their skin and wait one hour. However, the outcome was nearly nil. I didn't have any allergic reactions, which is a plus. I'm not going to buy it again, and I'm going to try a different brand.
