To my surprise, it began foaming up like soap as soon as I started applying it to my hair! Then, to make matters worse, my scalp began to burn like hellfire, and I panicked and rinsed it out. I thought it was possible that I had some bleach left in my hair, so I rinsed it thoroughly and gave it one last chance. Nope. The situation is identical: It foamed up and began to burn intensely, as if I had scrubbed it with soap. I threw it away after washing it out of my hair. There will be no more. Fortunately, I had some developer left over from the last time I toned my hair, and it worked perfectly, with no strange foaming or burning. Only the developer could have done it.
I love it. I'm 67 years old, have short hair, and I enjoy changing the color of my hair. I do it myself and use a rainbow of colors, and I just love it. It makes me feel younger, and I'm at an age where I don't care what other people think, but the product is fantastic.
This is a great developer that I use with Clairol professional grey busters hair color. It never damages my hair and it always looks good and healthy. I've seen a few reviews complaining about the price, which I don't understand because buying it at a beauty supply store would cost more money, not to mention the time and gas it would take to get it, so it's a win-win situation all around. Free shipping is included, as well as a high-quality product.
The product that was delivered did not match the description on the website. I got the older Clairol developer rather than the newer Soy4plex. For a comparison, see the image below.
The product itself is simple to use, despite the fact that I misjudged the size and overpaid. I usually use Wella toners and permanent hair color, and this doesn't have any issues mixing with them. If you have long or thick hair, you'll want to get a bigger bottle. I hope this information is useful.
It works very well in my opinion, and I strongly advise you to use it.
I wish it came in a larger bottle, but at least I wasn't forced to leave the house during Covid. This is what I use with Clairol's grey busters cream formula. It's just right.
I'm mixing it with other brands and it's perfect. I'm allergic to most products and this is working perfectly for me.
