Questions & Answers

What kind of toner is included with this highlight kit, if I get the orangey blonde?

There is a purple toner that is left on after the shampoo with which it comes is washed off.

How do you get the color cap to work? Rather than paint highlights, I'd rather paint them myself. ?

It is not necessary for you It is entirely up to you. Your results will look amazing, like a professional job, if you take the time to use the cap. Due to the amount of time and effort it takes, I am not a big fan of using a cap, but I still do it every time because the Plus, if you're going to do it, throw in some effort to ensure that you're doing You may not want to use a cap if you intend to have chunkier highlights. It is a good tool for highlighting, as long as they are thin and natural looking. It is possible to do it both ways.

Can permed hair be lightened with a hair lightener?

The product can be used on permed hair, but you must prepare your hair with argon oil or another hair oil so that it is in good condition before using it.

If I do highlights and an ombre effect, will it suffice for long (waist-length) hair?

There's a ton of stuff here! You might not need all of it! The hair on my back (ends at my thighs) is very long &amp I have blonde eyes Despite using quite a bit of product, I couldn't use it all up. I applied it to quite a few strands at once. I think it's worth every penny of its price. It is the best product I have ever used, and I am devoted to it A brand's identity.

There is nothing better than this hair kit on the market
5/5

This is my absolute favorite hair kit of all time! It costs $14. 95 here, but medication stores in NY sell it for $15. The only brand I have found that lightens my dark brown hair to almost platinum in one application is this one! Despite my best efforts, the Clairol highlight kit does not get me as light as this one does. L'Oreal is the only kit that contains a toner (which must be used if I'm going to turn my brassy blonde to a nice platinum blonde). If you don't mind, I'm on the negative side). The lightened hair is salon quality, and I can get it at a fraction of the cost I will be at home in my own comfort.

It works like a charm! The color of my hair is brown with a hint of red because I use Feria 58 to color it myself
5/5

The hair stylist put some face framing highlights in my hair a few months ago, but they had grown out, so I wanted to make them fresh again. This how-to video was particularly informative How to Balayage - Defining your Balayage . I'm a bit of a risk taker and am frugal so I watched a lot of videos on You Tube about highlighting before using this product. An image of the face. A small section of hair served as a test, and I discovered the product needed to remain on my hair for 45 minutes to achieve the caramel color I was seeking. After mixing 1, I then mixed 2. I mixed 5 teaspoons of the powder with 3 teaspoons of the developer and transferred the included shampoo to a container, so I could use a small amount each time. I did the same with the toner (both come in a packet that is meant to be thrown away after began the process by touching up my roots with Feria color, drying my hair, and then adding a few highlights strategically throughout my hair. I am pleased with how it turned out. The pintail comb and color brush I used throughout the highlighting process were also helpful. I also used hair clips to keep my hair back during this The full cost was less than thirty dollars and I expect to be able to use this kit at least six times! Savings of quite a bit! I would like to caution you You can make highlights more dramatic by using fewer Be sure to keep some of the left over hair dye close by in case you overdo the highlights and need to darken a few small sections after the highlights. After the Feria product is mixed, it loses a lot of its potency. That's why if you want the Feria product available you'll need to work quickly so that it can be completed within a few.

It has been a great year
5/5

There is nothing better than this product. Although I was almost terrified to do my own hair, salons were closed and I decided to go ahead with it. purchased this kit after doing a box color in my usual dark blonde, and it turned out flat with little to no depth. (Hence why I spend $150 every 8 weeks at the salon to get highlights) I was impressed with its ease of use once I tried it. I am being completely honest. My mother pushed the back of my head through the cap because I had no confidence in my ability to do it myself. After leaving the easy to mix formula on for 25 minutes, I rinsed it off. Put on the accompanying shampoo and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing off the leave-in toner rinse. It seems to be exactly the same as my salon highlights, maybe In fact, I intend on using it again in the future.

Using two different toners for the same bleach results in two different shades
4/5

The reason I am writing this review is to clarify answers given regarding why Loreal has two different shades of As I found out on a chat, the bleach in both shades is the same, only the toner differs in the stronger formula for caramel, which is a purple toner, and the lighter formula for champagne With this Loreal kit you could bleach dark hair for longer or lighter hair for longer. Loreal made this kit for all hair colors with just the addition of toner to cover all hair colors. For darker hair, Loreal told me this kit has a stronger, purple toner for bleaching. This is because darker hair doesn't bleach out to light blonde, while lighter hair needs a blue toner since it will bleach lighter hair to light In my opinion, Loreal altered the original kit by using a weaker bleach and adding a stronger toner while claiming it is two shades. Moreover, the original kit used a better cap the cheaper replacement was inferior.

Lift power is great
4/5

The product I used was not my first choice, but it did transform my hair from a dark brown and red hue to a nice golden blonde. In order to keep the cover from appearing orange, the toner helped fade out the color. Some of the light of the picture makes it look grey, although my actual grey hair might be causing that. My only complaint is that it seems to have damaged my hair quite a bit more than I anticipated. There's no sure way to tell if it was a reaction to the dye or because my hair got tangled when I pulled It was a pleasant surprise to see the color results, and I would certainly purchase this again when I need it to be.
