I'm glad to meet you! Since our scrunchies are mostly worn on the wrist, we used highly elastic bands in order to ensure they fit comfortably. This is because we understand the primary use for this product is on the wrist, so we measured the rubber out with this in mind.

Although I understand your review about the zipper not being as discreet as one might think, I especially appreciate the fact that the scrunchies had a white zipper contrasted with the black. IMPORTANT The zip on this scrunchie is dark as well to match the color of the scrunchie- It does, at least according to my order (please see the Those companies who listen to and make changes in response to what their customers observe and experience are those companies I appreciate.
A zipper that is of same color with the fabric would be nice, or one where the slider arm would not dangle, or if it did dangle, can be tucked into the fold. There is no such thing. It's so absurd, especially with the black one! The black one has this bright white zipper and dangling zipper arm! seem to suggest that there is a method of folding the scrunchie in whatever way it wants, and then the opening is concealed, which is only partially You can move it around to hide the opening. However, when it's worn, or if you move it even slightly, guess what becomes visible once again? The BRIGHT WHITE ZIPPER, that's right!
