This is my second purchase of a Tiberius Claudius barrette set, and I would not hesitate to do so again. The larger barrette is worth the price on its own; the smaller one is a nice bonus. My hair is healthy and about 24 inches long, but the strands are fine, so finding hair accessories that will actually hold the hair for any length of time before sliding out is difficult. This is the best barrette set I've ever seen.
I'm not sure how long I've been looking for a hair clip to keep my ponytail in place. Hair bands are fine, but a pretty clip is simple and appealing; either clips are too small to hold all of my hair, or I buy one for thick hair and it's too big or too wide; this one appeared to be the right size, so I gave it one more try to find the perfect clip - I'm glad I took the opportunity. My hair is medium length and medium thick, so I have to be careful not to force it closed with all clips, but once clipped, it holds my hair firmly in place without slipping and looks very nice.
I'm a big guy with a lot of hair. This isn't even going to hold back half of it. The design is attractive, but the construction is flimsy.

I have two of these clips because I adore them. Tortoise shell is the other option, and it complements any outfit. My hair is thick and holds its shape well, as well as looking good.
These are fantastic. The big Barrett can hold all of my hair in place without making me look like a little girl! It appeals to me. Some barrettes aren't made to withstand that kind of abuse.
The color combination is fantastic. Snapping open is a bit of a challenge. closed.
