I ordered directly from Amazon because it was sold by the package and there was only one in the order. Barettes that stay put are fantastic.
This is the third time I've purchased it, and the colors differ from one package to the next. As a result, if one package has a yellow bow, another package may have a pink bow. So there's no guarantee on color; only on style.
When closed, they measure approximately 1 1/2 inches.
No, they don't look exactly like they do in the picture. Birds, cats, dogs, and other animals will appear, but the colors will be random. You will, however, receive a matching set of each.

They do a good job of holding fine hair, but my two-year-old can easily remove them. However, the barrettes are not to blame for this. It's adorable!.
That's exactly what I needed! Barrettes in pretty colors and classic designs from decades ago. These, in my opinion, would be fantastic for fine baby or toddler hair. I purchased them with the intention of using them with American Girl dolls. I love that they come in pairs and that the pairs face opposite directions, ensuring that they are "right side up" on both sides of the head. I'll have to wait and see how they hold up over time, as I warmed each barrette in my hands before initially bending it. They were a little pricey, but I couldn't find them anywhere else and the convenience of Amazon delivery made it worthwhile.
Meh. These are nothing like the barrettes I used to have as a kid, despite the fact that they are from the same brand and have the same appearance. My daughter's fine hair is not held in place at all by these. They're thin and flimsy, and they don't close tightly. They're cute for the 5 minutes she's wearing them.
Because the alligator clips and bendy metal barrettes I've seen all over don't stay in my daughter's hair, I've been looking for plastic barrettes that clip closed. The colors are flat and "off" - they do stay in her hair. I expected the molds to be of ribbons and flowers, but many of them are quirky animal shapes - tomato red, dark red, pepto pink, a limey green bordering on light avocado, turquoise, banana yellow, and white. There are two sets of cats playing the banjo, as well as one set of jackrabbits. Maybe they're leftovers from the 1950s. My daughter doesn't seem to mind, but if I had seen these in a store, I would not have bought them.
I finally ordered these for my fine-haired daughter after a frustrating experience with every other type of barrette available. I'm so glad I took the chance! They actually stay in her hair, and when I take them out, they don't break it off! They aren't nearly as high-end as they appear to be. I don't think they're as good as they used to be, but as long as I'm careful when I take them out, I should be fine.
My daughter's hair is extremely fine. Even the tiniest strands of baby hair are held in place by these. Unlike other hair clips, she finds it difficult to remove them. She has yanked them out, along with her hair, but it isn't something she does on a regular basis. They aren't going to fall out of the sky by themselves. br>br>I looked all over town for the barrettes I used to have as a kid, but couldn't find them. Fortunately, Amazon usually has everything you could possibly need.
It's exactly what I was looking for for my daughters. These cute vintage barettes have the same quality I remember from my own youth as the new cheap ones, which aren't worth the two dollars they cost. The cost was a little higher than I had hoped, but it was well worth it because I got exactly what I needed.
I work in a childcare center and occasionally have a young girl with thick hair that gets in her way. These barrettes stay in place all day, even when you're doing a lot of things.
