Questions & Answers
I've always gone for the natural nail color options rather than the clear ones. Clear nails aren't the same as natural nails, in my opinion.
They melt in 100% acetone! I gave them a light acetone swipe, which turned them white and made them super soft, and then I gave them a longer wipe, which completely disintegrated them.
They're used in front of a UV LED light. For the LED, most of my gel polishes recommend 45 seconds, and for regular UV light, I believe 90 seconds. As a result, the correct answer for you is yes, you can put these under UV light. However, the length of time they should be exposed to UV light depends on the gel polish and the type of UV lamp you're using.
If the polish was removed, I suppose they could be. If it's a gel color, you'll need to use acetone to remove it. I'm going to check it out right now. Hang on. I'm back. I soaked a used swatch in acetone and the pip came off, leaving the swatch in perfect condition; therefore, the answer is YES.

They're both smooth and durable. On the handle, there is ample space for labeling. I labeled the handle with a permanent marker, which did not smear and has not worn off. They were well-protected in their packaging. There were 50 swatches in each smaller bag, one ring in each bag for a total of three rings, and all three smaller bags were then placed in a nice plastic bigger bag with a slider piece on top for easy open and close. It's a convenient plastic bag for storing used or unused swatches. Everyone in my nail group has asked me about these swatches. When I run out of swatches, I'll definitely buy more of these.
Some of the tips were scratched and had extra plastic on them. However, you get a lot of swatch sticks for your money. They're also very thin and fragile, and they bend easily. I'm not sure how long they'll last.
Because they all had small bits of plastic left on them from the molds, I had to file each one before painting it. The price was reasonable, but I would have been extremely frustrated if I hadn't had the time to file them.
The sticks are still usable, but they aren't suitable for professional presentation or for a serious collector/hobbyist who prefers a tidy appearance. This has frequently been a problem with one or two swatch sticks from previous orders I've purchased from other brands (which is an acceptable and understandable level of error), and this may ultimately be an issue of a bad batch based on other reviewers' experiences, but I find these swatch sticks to be largely unusable for my needs. br>br>I swatched a few samples for this review and discovered that some of the sticks with more egregious errors (bald spots or streaks from scratches on the surface, for example) made it more difficult to evenly swap polish. br>br>Polish used for swatches [left to right]: Julep - Tali (blue holographic) | Cupcake Polish - Cupcake Polish - Cupcake Polish - Cupcake Polish - Cupcake Polish - Cupcake Lei Me Down (purple holographic) | Tonic Polish - Tonic Polish - Tonic Polish - Tonic Polish - Tonic Polish - Tonic Polish Purple Shimmer Juice Box Chaser.
If you're purchasing these for personal use and as a one-time purchase, They're fine for time paint and store swatches. I would recommend a different product if you plan on using them in a professional setting or reusing them to experiment with different nail art techniques. br>They are super clear, but the plastic is very flexible and cheap. There are inconsistencies, which you may need to file, and there is extra plastic around the edges, as others have mentioned. I didn't mind because I was just swatching my existing nail polishes.
The part that got me was that I painted one whole package with a collection of nail polish that I had and then I tried to do some nail art on I made some dots on a swatch stick and tried to remove them with a cotton ball dipped in just a little acetone and a quick swipe, then quickly switched to the foggy / white swatch stick and did it again, only to discover that the acetone had eaten a divot out of the swatch stick. To make sure it wasn't just one faulty stick, I took one from another ring and painted it, then dipped it in acetone for less than 5 seconds. When I pulled it out, the stick head was completely white and soft, and when I touched it, it broke off and had slightly dissolved. These will not work for me because I intended to use some of them to create nail art designs before applying them to my nails. After realizing this, I performed another test in which I immersed the stick for 15 seconds in acetone. When you use glitter polishes, your nails can become soaked, so I wanted to see what would happen if I did it for a longer period of time. The stick had the consistency of cling wrap when I pulled it out. It was a slimy, white substance that had crumbled completely. br>Overall, if you're just going to apply a coat of nail polish to these and keep them for your own use, they'll be fine, but the plastic is still quite flexible, so if you're not careful, they'll break with moderate use. You get what you pay for because they're so cheap. These will not work if you plan to paint and repaint, even with a base coat.
Great swatches! It's so helpful to be able to see all of my colors when planning a manicure. But take a look at the details. There are three sets of 50 swatches in total, for a total of 150. I read the headline, which stated that there would be three sets of 150 in total. The only reason I docked a star is because of this.
It's a hobby of mine to paint nails. These are one of my favorites because they're so simple to use. I use wheels as well, but they can be difficult to work with because they are so close together.
I'm kicking myself for not purchasing a variety of brands and performing quality control checks. But, since I've already done my research, I'll either buy more or update this review if I find higher-quality alternatives.
Pros: Although the nail portion of these swatch sticks is scratched, the scratching is on the underneath, so it has no effect on nail polish application. They're mostly smooth, as well. Only three of the three have jagged edges. a score of 5 out of a possible 140 As a result, I am satisfied.
Cons: The swatch sticks are extremely flimsy, and the holes on the rings don't always line up. This is where the quality suffers the most, as there is often too much plastic and jagged edges. When they're attached to the ring, it also doesn't lay flat (as shown in the photos). br>I wish I had tried out more sticks, and I'll be on the lookout for better quality with similar dimensions, but the nail portion is fine — and that's the most important part anyway. br>For the record, I paid $6 for them. I'm not going to pay any more.
