I've never attempted to do my own acrylic nails. I used to grow my own nails, and then I progressed to having them done at a salon when my health issues made it impossible for my nails to grow nicely, which became expensive. br>I first tried DIY Cornstarch Nails, which proved to be messy and time consuming due to the wear time, as well as other issues. br>I found a great Youtube Instructor/Influencer (Natali Carmona) who used Mia's Secret frequently. br>I chose this kit because it appeared to include everything I'd require to get started. br>I'm overjoyed that I was able to do so! br> It's much more convenient than buying everything separately, and it also gives me a hint as to what I'll need in the future. br>I discovered that there might only be enough monomer and powder for two sets - So, before even using the kit, I took other reviewers' advice and bought larger quantities of each. br>I followed the kit's instructions as well as the advice and instructions provided by the YouTubers. br>I found the monomer and powder to be fairly easy to apply. I tried to take my time, and while I did go in a few times too wet (longer dry time on those nails), I didn't have any glumps, bumps, dribbling, or crumbles. After the acrylic was set, I only had to file and buff my nails a little. br>I like that it came with a block and a file. The primer and top coat are effective, the brush is adequate (although I purchased a backup), and it comes with a block and a file. I haven't used the suggestions yet because I already had a box. I'll use it again or save it for a later date. br>The powder is "clear," with only a few specks of sparkle. After that, I was looking at my nails and thought I saw "sugary" teensy bumps, but my nail was smooth, so it had to be the sparkles? br>I enjoy wearing nail polish, so this isn't a problem for me. br>I thought it went well for a first timer. If you're a first-timer, I strongly advise you to pay attention to the instructions. br>As the photo shows, my nails aren't perfect, but I'm happy with this item and the result! br>My favorite nail shapes are oval, ballerina (coffin), and stiletto. Made in the United States, this item is well worth the money. It appeals to me. I'd never done anything like this before, and this was my first time working with acrylics. The glue works perfectly; the instructions say to hold for 10 seconds, but I found that it dried much faster. Because this is a high-quality acrylic powder, it works quickly; in fact, it says so in the description. As a result, it requires minimal filing, which is fantastic for me; I didn't even need to use my Rotary as much, instead preferring to use my hand filer. I didn't use the brush that came with it because some of the reviews said to get a different brush, so I used the 10 Kolinsky brush instead, and because this powder is fast, it has superior adhesion, self-adhesion, and self-healing properties. The brush got hard quickly, so just keep it wet as I researched what to do when that happens. leveling polymer that requires minimal filing the formula is Clarity and strength, so the brush got hard quickly, so just keep it wet as I researched what to do when that happens.
