I've made the switch from Esse to OPI. I admired my friend's "natural" fingernail color. She told me the color name was DON'T BOSSA NOVA ME AROUND and that she always used OPI and the base "NATURAL NAIL BASE COAT" before adding top coats because this brand had been so dependable in terms of application and color not chipping easily after top coat for years. I purchased all three products and was blown away by the base coat, nail lacquer, and top coat. I'm a mixed media artist who uses a lot of needles, pins, scissors, and other sharp objects, all of which wreak havoc on any nail polish I use, so I've mostly used clear. When the mood strikes, I can now happily use color. The color opaque lacquer, like most of its kind, requires two coats to achieve a glossy finish and applies smoothly. This is a brand that I would recommend.

So, aside from preventing nail polish chips, I don't see anything particularly noteworthy about this base coat. The problem is that it causes severe peeling of your nails. It does it every time I use it, and then I don't use it for a while because I'm not sure what it's doing. However, after a final use (I've decided to throw it out), I believe it will cause nail peeling and does not appear to protect against nail peeling. It also contains tosylamide and camphor, two well-known toxic nail polish chemicals, and it's difficult to find a base coat that doesn't contain these ingredients these days.

As a self-care item, I ordered some OPI polish, base coat, and top coat, and I was very excited about this simple stress reliever. So it was disproportionately disappointing when the top separated from the brush on the base coat. OPI is supposed to be a reliable brand, so I'm not sure what's up with this or if it's happening with other OPI bottles as well. Anyhoo. Sad face. I would not recommend this product.

I'm someone who only paints her nails twice a year, with several months in between. I became interested in nail art and, perhaps erroneously, purchased these directly from Amazon to save money. I'm not sure if these are genuine OPI or if genuine OPI does the same thing, but my nails were stained yellow despite using white as the base color. I prepared my nails by wiping them down with Walgreens Non-Toxic Nail Polish. I used Acetone Nail Polish Remover, which contains a small amount of dye, but I'm not sure if that's what caused the problem. Otherwise, my nails are very white. br>br>If you don't mind your nails yellowing as much as I do, go ahead and do it, but be aware that it may happen to you.

This was a fantastic base coat to begin with. It was a big change for me because I'd been using another brand for years, but I was really pleased with this one for a while! After a few uses, something happened to the top. br>It wouldn't open for no apparent reason, requiring at least two tools (pliers, wrench, and occasionally more). ) in order to remove the top. br>That worked for a while, but it didn't work the last time I tried. It's still nearly full, so it's a shame; I have hundreds of nail polishes and have never had one become unusable like this, especially so quickly. br>Wasn't it a fantastic product while it was available? OPI has always been a favorite of mine.

My nails now have a better texture. It is easier to apply the polish. This is far superior to my previous foundation. Essie nonstop base was the previous one. This one is a little smoother and has a distinct "grip" texture to it. It's thicker and improves the polish's texture; my nails have fewer visible ridges as a result. It contributes to a more "salon-like" appearance. I only wish I had purchased the topcoat to give it a try.
