Selected User Reviews For Summer Double Safety Bedrail, Grey
This was purchased for a twin bed that our two-year-old was moving into. It was simple to put together and use. Even though she still sleeps all over the place, it covers a large portion of the bed, so I don't have to worry about her falling out. I like how one of the rails can be folded down to make changing sheets easier. The fold-down mechanism isn't the most user-friendly, so it might be difficult to fold it down frequently. But it's perfect for what we're doing with it. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I've included photos to show you how it looks on a twin bed and to show you where the pin that releases the rail is located. On both sides, there is one.
I wish I had paid attention to the one star reviewer who said the folding bedrail is nearly impossible to remove. Instead, I focused my attention on those who gave four and five stars; They just said the unfolding mechanism isn't very user friendly to get around it. That's an understatement—trying to raise the pins that unfold the rail is ridiculously difficult and extremely frustrating, as the one star reviewer stated. Because no one can unlock the pins, we simply keep the rail up. br>br>Aside from that, this rail was simple to put together and install beneath our queen-size mattress. Having one unfolding side was, however, a big selling point for me. We have a lot of grandkids who use these rails in our spare bedrooms, and getting in and out of the bed with these rails is a pain in the neck. As a result, it's difficult to change the sheets. br>br>In another bedroom, we still have an old Fisher Price rail—it's nearly thirty years old, but it's still functional. We're not sure why Summer Infant couldn't make something similar to the up mechanism that unlocks the rail to fold down; it still works great and requires no effort.
These fit our queen-size bed perfectly. They are, in fact, a fraction of an inch shorter than they claim, but depending on the height of your mattress, this may be a significant difference. Please keep in mind that only ONE SIDE of the paper folds down. It says so in the description, but I somehow missed it, so when I realized it, I was a little disappointed. But that's entirely my fault. br>We've even used it on a trip and it's worked out perfectly. Overall, this is an excellent product.
The IKEA bed, on the other hand, fits perfectly between her mattress and the "lip" on the side of the bed. It's very sturdy and can withstand the weight I'm putting on it. The only issue I had was with it slipping off the slats while I was putting the mattress on, so I zip tied it to the slats to keep it in place. It was a cinch to use. The zip ties aren't necessary to keep it in place, but they will make moving the mattress for sheet changes easier. With these on, it's difficult to make the bed, but that's fine with me. Even so, the bed can be made to appear presentable.
It's impossible to praise these highly enough. They were simple to install and, more importantly, they have kept our nearly 2-year-old home safe. year- In his new big boy bed, my eight-year-old son is safe and secure. We decided to transition our son to a full-time job with the arrival of a new baby. He needed bed rails in his new room because he had a king-size bed. We chose the Summer Infant Safety Bedrails after conducting extensive research into the various options. The mesh sides and collapsible sides make changing linens a breeze. I would definitely buy from them again.
Although they kept our toddler safe, changing sheets with these rails is a pain. Because the buttons are so difficult to press, I've never been able to lay out the side that folds down. To get the sheets on, I had to wiggle around the mattress, which caused the rails to move out of place. It was a long and winding road to get here. Thank you very much.
Despite its short length, it serves its purpose for the time being. I read that if you only used one side of it, it wouldn't work. However, this is how I'm currently employing it. With the weight of the mattress, it will be held down and in place. This is one of the reasons I only gave it four stars. br>It doesn't stretch far enough for a king-size bed, but it worked for me. I'd like it to be a bit longer as well. However, I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to any mother. Also, I like how the color is grey rather than white like the others, and how easy it is to clean!.
