I liked the fold-down feature and wished I could like it more, but there is a significant gap. My baby was furious when his hand became stuck while we were just experimenting. My four-year-old daughter can even squeeze through the crack. Consider what would happen if a baby were to become stuck with his or her back to the mattress. It is risky. I'm going to return it and look for one with an extra bar in the middle, similar to the one we already had (see comparison in the third photo).

We share a king bed with our baby and use this on our king bed. It's made of heavy-duty material and isn't designed to prevent them from climbing over it.
