My 6 month old and I bought them for our first plane trip. My inability to comment on how the noise cancellation is due to the fact that I don't use them is another limitation. I'm finding that when my baby wears them, he does not startle at loud noises. He was almost 3 weeks old when I began using them, and they fit well with plenty of room to grow. Although they seem to work well, it has been difficult to tell due to their small size In addition to the ear covering, the band over the head is also there. It seems that they do work when you hold them on your baby's ears, so if you have a small baby and need ear protection, these might be a good choice.
