Although I did not know if they were too large, I bought the right size for my son. After two days wearing these training pants, he started complaining of pain in his private parts. As far as I could tell, the seam separating the part with extra thickness from the regular was rubbing on him and causing him a lot of pain. The doctor was called because it was so irritated that bleeding was occurring and they recommended stopping using them, which we had already done. He did not feel any discomfort and appeared to be fine a few days after using the ointment. The chances of us trying these again are low, but I do not rule it out. I love it. The potty training process was a challenge for us. I did not want to stop playing to take my little one to the bathroom. I would exchange it if i were in a regular store like target or walmart, but I don't want to go through the hassle of going through all that so I will just fix it myself. I think $10 is a bit expensive for 3 training pants, but I'm sure it's because it's made from spider-web material The ones that are not certified by CPSC are cheaper, but anything to get your toddler enthusiastic about using the potty is better than nothing.
