Questions & Answers

Is it possible to remove and wash the cushion covers?

Because you have to put the chair together, which includes attaching the cushions, the cushions are removable. When it comes to washability, The back and bottom cushions are unlikely to fit in a washer; instead, you'll have to clean them with a carpet/furniture cleaner. The sides are small enough to fit in a washer.

Is the light grey color in the photo representative of the actual shade of grey? In person, does it appear to be lighter or darker?

It's a shade of gray that's in the middle of the spectrum. It's a tad darker than the image, but not by much.

Is it possible for you to mail it to France?

21 inches

Is the chenille made of polyester or microfiber?

It isn't made of microfiber at all. I'd call it a polyester chenille.

Frame has cracks in it
3/5

I was completely let down! I'd finally bit the bullet and purchased a high-end glider, only for it to arrive with a massive crack in the wood. I didn't bother taking it out of the box because it weighed around 70 pounds and I was 38 weeks pregnant at the time. The exchange process was a pain, and they told me after 45 minutes on the phone the next day (after they had already processed the exchange and return online) that it wouldn't be in until mid-October (after the baby's due date). I was angry and frustrated, and I blamed it on pregnancy hormones. On Facebook Marketplace, I found a Dutailier glider for $50 that has been a dream and has saved me $500. Dutailier is a high-quality brand, and I'm glad I have one, but I was furious when the one I ordered arrived broken.

The chair is fantastic, but the ottoman is a nightmare
5/5

We've been using this glider on a daily basis for over 9 months and it's still going strong; it's a very comfortable, sturdy, and versatile glider that's come in handy with the baby! The cushioning is thick and comfortable, and there are no signs of wear or compression at this time. It has a velvety smooth surface that is simple to clean. The color is a deep chocolate. It has a lot of reclining positions to choose from, and you can lock it in any position you want. When I was looking at gliders, I wasn't sure if all of that was necessary, given the higher price, but people seemed to appreciate the versatility and believe it was worth the extra money. It is, in fact, the case! I like how the seat slides forward in addition to the back reclining backwards, allowing you to almost lay flat on it. The glider is still completely silent after all of this time, which is critical when it comes to babies. This glider is my absolute favorite! br>br>There are only two things I don't like about it, and while they are annoyances, I don't believe they warrant a one-star rating. 1. br>br> The arm rest pads are attached with a flimsy adhesive. They wrap around the armrest and are held in place by velcro, and there is a flap that hangs down between the armrest and the chair's seat. That flap isn't even attached to the seat; it simply hangs down. When you sit and use the arm rests, they rotate and the flap ends up pointing up or sideways, the velcro gets pulled apart and exposed from the spinning, it crinkles and catches your clothes or baby blanket, and because it's exposed, it feels rough on your skin if you lean your arm against the arm rest. I keep having to rotate the damn pads so the velcro and the flap point up or sideways. It was inconvenient, and it could have been avoided if there had been another piece of velcro attached to the seat to keep the flap in place. However, if I sew a piece of velcro onto it, it will be too short and will not reach. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br The ottoman, on the other hand, is a much bigger annoyance. That ottoman irritates me! It glides back and forth like a chair, which appears to be a cool feature at first glance. But only at first. You can't really push off if your feet are on it and you're trying to rock back and forth in the chair because it rocks back and moves from beneath your feet. If you've got a 20-dollar bill in your hand, pound baby and trying to keep the rocking motion going for an extended period of time, it's a pain! I have to keep one foot on the ground in order to push off of something solid. When you pull the footrest out, the ottoman sort of "locks" in place, but not really. It only works in one direction. You can't push it back, but you can pull it forward, which means that if you bump it in the dark, it will rock forward, but then run into the stopper and make a loud clanking noise, waking the baby after all that effort to put her to sleep. I wish it would just lock and stay locked, or at the very least not clank! The foot rest is very useful, but it's also annoying because when you push off of it to rock the chair, it makes clanking noises as well. Something about the way that ottoman and its footrest are built makes it feel shaky, clanky, and noisy, and it irritates me on a daily basis. However, I would still recommend the recliner because the main part of it - the seat - is extremely comfortable. a recliner in the flesh - it's fantastic Get a new ottoman, if necessary. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> The glider is still going strong after three years and two babies! We still use it on a daily basis, though it's mostly for bedtime stories and comforting when a child is having a bad night. The pillows haven't changed a bit - There is no compression that I can detect, and it is still completely silent, save for a small pop that occurs when you shift your weight forward in preparation for getting up. But I've figured out a way to eliminate, or at the very least reduce, the pop. There are no other issues, and the only one is minor. This glider is without a doubt one of the best baby purchases we've ever made!.

It was awkward and uncomfortable for me, so I didn't like it
3/5

Because of all of the features and excellent reviews, I really wanted to like this glider, but I couldn't. br>To begin with, the glider is very sturdy, quiet, glides and reclines, and is extremely simple to assemble. br>The cushions and fabric did not appeal to me. The foam in the chair is extremely firm, and the seat appears to be uncomfortable when sitting in it. The widest part of my hips wanted to sit right where the arm rests get the narrowest (I am not very large, size 10 in womens)br>The fabric was not breathable, creating "swamp butt"br>And there is no lumbar support. br>I just couldn't get comfortable in this chair no matter how hard I tried, even with the addition of pillow supports and a blanket to lay down. br>All in all, it was a bit awkward. So, despite the high cost, I believe it must be returned.

The Nursing Ottoman and Glider are both excellent
5/5

I tried on a variety of gliders in a variety of stores, ranging in price from low to high. This is by far the most cost-effective option! The majority of the ones I tried in the store were extremely thin. They shifted side to side when getting in and out, and it appeared that they would quickly wear out. I had tried a few Dutailiers and was impressed by the quality, but not by the high price tag or long delivery times that traditional furniture and baby stores imposed. br>br>I took a chance and ordered it online, and I'm so glad I did! I placed my order on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and it arrived the next Thursday. The chair arrived in good condition and was exactly what I expected. Instead of the plastic footrest I'd seen on other ottomans, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a leather one. Also, the chair is a little darker in color than the picture suggests, which is fine; I am 8 months pregnant and had no trouble putting it together. For the handle attachment, the instructions were a little confusing, and I ended up putting it on the wrong side. There is no way to reverse this, but they are still usable. Just keep in mind that the 'left handle' does not go on the left side of the chair, where your left hand would normally go. It would only make sense if this were the case. br>br>I'm glad I decided on the multiposition and recline option. I'm not sure I'd be as content in a glider chair. On long nights up with a fussy baby, being able to adjust the chair to my preferred position and keep it there will be extremely useful. The cushions are extremely comfortable and appear to be long-lasting, and the frame is extremely heavy and sturdy. It glides silently and without the side-to-side shifting that I have experienced in other chairs. Overall, this purchase has exceeded my expectations.
