It almost feels like velour, so if you spill anything on it (like pee when changing a diaper), it tends to bead up and you can wipe it off.

Despite its softness and pretty appearance, this changing pad cover is incredibly durable. Adding it to the whale and anchor theme in the nursery looks great. I was surprised to find that it didn't shed when I washed it.
