No fanfare is required here for this to work. There was nothing really special about it, but there is nothing wrong with it. There are other options available if you're searching for something that offers most padding atop the mattress. I did not find this very padding, and I did not anticipate it being so. I have a standard crib mattress from Ikea but the seams in this product were stronger. Carters would seem to be more unlikely to have this happen if they are so well known. Therefore, it's going to have to be rated a 3/5.
The waterproof mattress protector protects the mattress from water and other liquids Due to the fact that our cribs were converted into toddler beds, I used this for overnight potty training. The first time I washed it (cold water wash), the second time I put it in the dryer with normal clothes, and the third time it didn't shrink. Despite washing it according to the CARE INSTRUCTIONS, the shirt was still 4 inches short after I stretched it out. We have been using it for a year and have switched to Having used them for one year, they have shrunk to the point where they are completely ineffective. They shrank even after washing and drying, but it was most noticeable in recent months, but we were still able to use them.
