The plastic in ours was also like that. I felt that I wanted it to keep our room cooler not hotter while we were on a beach vacation with lots of sun.

It's easier than you think to install these black out blinds. All I have to do is place the suction cups on the glass and we are done. You will have a wonderful night if you follow these steps! We're ready to sleep now!.
A few times I had to use the suction cup. I don't have long enough windows due to the size of my window. Hopefully they will make them longer in the future. In this regard, they were useful to me.
It is especially useful when traveling since I need complete darkness to relax and sleep well. Hotels curtains are sometimes unsatisfactory, so I purchased this. I received it yesterday and hung it up as a practice. While the large size was too big for my office window, I was able to adjust it to fit by stitching plenty of velcro blocks along the sides. A day after hanging the curtain, it is still attached to the suction cups as it was. As you can see from the photos I took, even when the outside light is shining brightly, the curtain managed to block it and make the room completely dark. This is a great product and I'd recommend it to anyone who needs complete darkness for sound sleep.

In addition, it is a good product in terms of quality. I strongly believe that the sewing is well done, and is not something that is poorly produced. After reading the previous review about its suction, I was a little concerned about its power, but found that if you clean and dry the windows properly, you won't experience any problems with it.
