Questions & Answers

What is the best way to turn off the voice activation?

It is not possible to turn off the voice activation. Upon activation, there is just the option to set the period of time that it will remain on. If you don't need it, you can turn it off as a whole. I have run out of batteries by coughing when we leave the hippo on, especially if it is left on for long periods.

Can you tell me how sensitive it is? When you place the hippo, how close do you have to put it? I'd never leave mine to listen to a crying baby. ?

During the past 10 months, my 10 month old has learned to call out with a specific pitch to make the app It is more the tone than the loudness of the signal that activates it.

What kind of white noise does it make?

This device does not play white noise. However, it does play icean waves, which it appears sounds similar to white noise like the Summer Infant lamb, which we are not able to find.

The stars can be made flashing, is there an option for that?

It doesn't flash, but its effect is faded in and out and it has several colors The color blue. There are a lot of fun features on this toy, it plays music, creates nature sounds, tells nursery rhymes, and also features a lovely star pattern. That's one of the best books I've ever read.

I hate that creepy voice! Some random woman starting to talk to your kid in the middle of the night? Why would someone think that was a good idea? I don't understand! The item is very defective
3/5

There are so many problems with it. Sleep does not make sense to the designer of this thing. You choose a song and it repeats, but instead of playing one song every time, it plays 64 short snippets of songs so your kid is always listening to something different, many of which are WAY too upbeat for his age. This is a sleep-tempo music album, and the first four songs are sung by a creepy random lady. The freaky thing is that the night when the cry activation feature comes on, my kid will hear a creepy voice singing to him I don't think so. The answer is simply no. A nature song isn't a good alternative because it is also very short and there is dripping water in one of them. What is the origin of this idea? Avoid it by not buying It's okay not to. It's hard for me to recommend anything better I don't have a cry activation option. I have a Summer Infant elephant that we love, but it doesn't have a cry-activating feature, so I hear the baby crying when she has a fuss The year is Every morning we have to walk in there to turn it on since it wakes up in the night. I'm glad we're going to get the Hatch. While it would be nice to avoid having to check my phone in the middle of the night to turn the sound back on, it has to be better than this creepy, insane.

I am very happy with it
4/5

All in all, I'm very pleased with the results. Having 60 songs for you to choose from is a blast, and the color projection is superb We like how the stars change. It has a variety of options and a volume control dial that's particularly good. We like how the music plays for so long - this is important to us. Compared with similar products, this product lasts longer. I have a 2 year old daughter who likes to see the stars, but asks to have the lights turned off after a minute because they are It's fun for her to sit and watch the lights come on in a dark closet. In addition to this, we only found one negative aspect that if it hears crying, it auto-turns back on. The lights and music are on. I'd be ok with this if we could control what would happen, but it seems to aggravate the situation even further, keeping our 2-year-old awake even longer. A stop-start function can be included to prevent the unit from starting on its The red wire on the gold disc of the microphone (microphone) was disconnected once I opened up the unit (see the photo). It looks like the connectors are marked Speaker on the PCB, but apparently it is merely a microphone, since it does not appear to have negatively affected In the future, my daughter will not start the unit back up if she makes any noise in the night, and we can turn it on manually if.

I failed as a parent the first time
4/5

I hadn't thought of trying a new battery! The product is great, but this is my third one, and they eventually stop working. As the music and lights fade out, they start skipping and fluttering. A RECENT UPDATE As a result, I've returned six of these units thinking they were defective. They eventually flicker and skip the music. Changing the batteries was never an option for me. I hope this helps to solve the problem if it does, if not, please let me know. There should be a way to extend the life of the batteries. Two 45-minute cycles per night are what I run with it, so I'm sure that's what's wrong. What a mess!.

The most important thing I've ever done
5/5

When we were riding in the car at night, our baby cried. All the time. I was ready to give up driving at night when we bought this (in blue) and she doesn't have any issues in the car at night anymore. The little device has been a huge help for her during naps (which we were also struggling with) and now she's able to drift off to sleep without any problems. There are stories to read, songs to sing, music to play, and nature sounds to hear. With this timer, you can set the timer for 15, 30, or 45 minutes and it will soothe them with sounds and project As soon as the baby cries, the light turns back on for soothing. We just realized that when the baby is falling asleep. In addition to being used during the day, we now use it at night. This really saved my life. My husband just completed his order for the blue one we've had, and I just ordered the pink one for my car! The bear one will stay in the nursery.

It is great that this is happening
3/5

However, the timer goes off after a certain period of time. The app would be awarded 5 stars if there was an option to turn off a particular Whenever he is switched on, this little hippo has a timer. The timer will be set and went off if the baby made noises for more than 5 seconds, then it will turn on again. I stayed up all night. The battery consumption is high, because of this, so the device is ok in some respects. That feature is a pain to use, and I would like to be able to turn it off. The only thing that could make it better is if I could rate it five stars.

For the 2nd time, I am very disappointed! It's a no-brainer I saw this toy as the first thing I saw when I opened the Amazon box, since it was exposed &amp I was concerned about the safety of it
3/5

There are breaks on the box and the item is missing The presentation is not acceptable. While checking this toy, I noticed that the hippo was not tied from it when I gently pulled it out of its box. Is & sound and the video are the most annoying things about the game This toy, either through its music or design with regards to the toy itself, is defective. The "Row row row your boat" music kept on repeating but it wasn't completed and it had short breaks. The object is similar to a broken CD inside a car CD player, for The issue is that I tried all the buttons, but it returns all over again. I repeat again & again I found that row3 your boat was stuck on an indeterminate line that the song kept on repeating without completion. This is my newborn baby's gift from us. As I noted in the first comment I wrote on a toy that came from you (Amazon), this is the present we gave him. I would appreciate it if you can resolve this issue Would you like to share some suggestions with Amazon again? Is this toy defective? Could you replace it for me? It is already defective since it was delivered to you.

I'm in love with I was able to save my life with this item! In my purchase, I purchased this in the hopes that it would turn on during the middle of the night for my daughter, and indeed used to have a Motorola camera that would let me control music through the camera however, since that device ceased to function, I have been looking for something to substitute it with
5/5

She goes to bed wide-eyed at night, gazing at all of the different colors of the stars, and it helps her relax back to sleep. Choose between a 15, 30, or 45 minute timer, and you can also choose just to have the lights flashing or just to have the sound playing. I'm not sure what the fuss is about, but if your child is constantly waking up in the middle of the night and you have the music on, it's bound to drain your battery! AA batteries are easy to find. Just ensure that you have them on hand. In my experience, this is a great tool for parents.
