In a nutshell, It was a gift from his grandpa when he was a baby and he has been using it ever since. With a daughter now around, we decided to buy a matching pink one for her. pretty and soft, and it has different tunes combined with sounds of the sea. There are some variations of "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" and Pachelbel's Canon among them. It is the only thing I did not like about it that some tunes have weird pauses (like a half second) between sections, but it only happens during a few tunes, so it does not bother me too It is important to note that the buttons for the seahorse could be confusing at first. There are two on the back, one to control the volume and another to control You can choose normal, demo or off as a mode. The song will stop after a few seconds if you are in demo mode. I do not believe this is a bug! To set it in normal mode, just flip the switch. You will hear the songs for around 5 minutes when you press the seahorse's belly in normal mode. The only way to stop them before that is to long press the belly again. I believe my daughter is still too young to appreciate this toy (she is only 2 weeks old), but I am sure she will grow to love it as much as her brother does!.
We have had a couple of them so the design has changed a bit. After washing, the inner plastic body can shrink and may struggle to fit inside the outer plastic body, which may cause the velcro to come apart while playing. For the purpose of keeping another infant occupied and for comfort, I purchased this for our infant to help with background noise after putting them to sleep or when sneaking from the room. It has been used every night since then, and "baby" is now in his first year of school! Since the music plays for a few minutes and then automatically shuts off after a few minutes, the batteries lasted pretty well. Furthermore, you can give it an extra squeeze and turn it off on your own if you got it turned on by accident. It was very easy for the child to learn how to turn it on themselves and help soothe themselves back to sleep at such a young age. I liked the size of it because we could take it on trips with us.
