Because my child isn't due for another month, I bought but have yet to use the elephant sleep soother. I like the plush design and the fact that the projector can be removed for washing and later used by the child. I'm a little disappointed that it only projects for 30 minutes and plays music. I'm guessing it's to conserve battery life, but I wish the projector piece could be rotated to shine on the ceiling. The elephant would have to be attached to the crib's top rail facing up, defeating the purpose of the music. Because the product only projects on the wall, you must turn it towards the crib and move it in the opposite direction from where the baby sleeps. The crib blocks a clear view of the wall on the other side. For the time being, it's adequate for travel, but I'll be replacing it in the bedroom with something else.
The owl was a gift for my daughter's baby shower, and she still loves it after a year and a half. As a result, I had to go out and get one for our new baby due in July! It's just not the same animal, but everything works fine on it so far.
It's a huge hit with my grandson. He's 7 months old and wakes up with the intention of turning it on. It is something I would recommend.
This is one of my son's favorite things to do when I'm rocking him to sleep late at night. We turn on the lights, not too brightly to keep him awake, but brightly enough for him to see. He drifts off to sleep with the music playing in the background.
It's perfect for newborns because it's so adorable and light. If you're looking for a white noise machine, this is it. I bought it as a gift and it's the second one I've bought. I would purchase this item again.
