My basket had a problem holding its shape, as mentioned by another customer. This container now measures 17" across from end to end (on both sides with handles), by 11". So far, it has worked well with the soft toys I filled it with for our little dog. The measurements may vary, so please be aware.
There is a small size difference between mine and the one I ordered. These cloths can be used in the field as well as for washing. In my opinion, a cat would not fit in there.
The one I got was small, I'm not sure.
I believe the size for Large is 15 inches long by 6 inches high by 11 inches wide, but it's shaped like an oval, not round.

This is the storage container that I bought for my dog's toys and so far, it has held up well! (Even though it's not supposed to be done, she drags it across the floor) and it has so far not been damaged. If your puppy is likely to do that, you might want something a little heavier. However, she is easy to drag around or dump out, so if you have a puppy who is like that, you might want something more durable. I like this basket, however, because it is a very cute, soft basket that could be used for many different I think this would work great for a kid's room as well!.
