They're great for making baby food, which is why I bought a whole lot of them. It was necessary to clean them properly and to air Then I made ice cubes a few times with them. I was wondering what that disgusting taste was from adding them to the water. First, I thought our water filter had broken, but it was actually the freezer tray that had failed. Because they tasted like plastic or a strange chemical, no one wanted to use the ice cubes any longer. In my current state, I would never use baby food in the fridge. It is so disappointing to learn this. There are five (or six) of them and I spent around $50 on them. *Edit *br > As a result of my discussion with another mom, I have received this advice In the end, I boiled the silicone trays in plain water for quite a while. This helped, no bad smell or taste anymore. However, if it becomes necessary, it should be mentioned at the company's place of business. Wee Sprouts have also refunded the amount I paid for the frozen trays, plus sent me an additional package that contains several items from their baby line in order to apologize and persuade me to give them a better rating. It was really nice of them to do this and add the handwritten note to go with it. There is at least a sense of caring.
Rather than having something made from fillers, I bought one online and one direct from Amazon to use as my son's baby food container. These are made from filler and are not safe to use. Although they claim to be made with silicone, you can see in the pictures that do so many companies try to tell lies about the ingredients they use in their products? I am having a hard time finding something that is completely silicone that I can use We were let down so badly.
I wish we could keep it. This product is easy to use and it's super easy to pull out frozen food.
The reason I'm returning it is that this product does not pass the "pinch test" (turn the silicone white when you twist or pinch it). In other words, there are plastic fillers as well as silicone in this product and it is not 100% food-grade We are returning this product since I do not want the chemicals to leach into my baby's food.
I am, however, giving more stars for the customer service and care it offers. Things took a very long time to be resolved (partly because they were busy, partially because I was), but they still did everything in their power to repair the situation. For customer service, I will raise my rating to 4 stars. For the product, I will still give it a 1 star. It was my suggestion to do a pure silicon that was 100 % dye free. We just do not need to use all these funky colors for our children's In the original I don't want the color to leach out into the food, which means it is contaminating it! They look blotchy now that they have been using them for a few weeks, because some of the areas have leached a lot It's so upsetting to see this happen. You shouldn't use dyes in a product if it can't be made If you want a hint of color, you should use beet juice or something natural.
A review of the current situation has been published Upon receiving the review, the seller immediately sent a replacement product as well as a handwritten note saying that the company is taking each review seriously and that it is working to improve its My jaw dropped when I saw this. In other words, this shows how much work they are putting into improving a better and safer product for babies and kids. It would be nice to know if they will be removing some of their products from distribution if they still have a soapy, weird smell. A review of an old book In order to prepare meals for my baby, I purchased this product. While reading reviews, I read that the smell was unpleasant, and I wanted to personally experience this for That turned out to be the case! As part of the product description, the maker mentions that silicone products have a The silicone spatula I use from Ikea does not smell, but I am not convinced this is the case as I have a silicone spatula that I bought from Ikea. The smell persisted after I washed it with baby dishwashing soap and dried it with an air dryer. In order to test the food's ability to acquire chemical smells, I poured plain water in the remaining slots, and poured baby food in those that had leftover baby food. I was disappointed to smell the same soapy and plastic-like odor on the ice cubes. While the baby food itself did not smell, I do not want to take any chances, as if the ice cubes have that smell, then the baby food might too and thus I might have missed it because the baby food smell might have obscured the container's Furthermore, as you can see in the picture, it could not pass the pinch test. The only positive is that it could be easily cleaned and removed. I have to return this product, but sadly.
