Pumping workouts did not work for me because I was in pain every day. My Pumpin' pals are connecting seamlessly - bought these for use with Pumpin', and they work great! I get twice as much milk as I did with a factory flange, and I've no problems with the connections. The ultimate product for full-time pumpers, moms going back to work, or others who want to take care of their children.
It's so fun to look at They are perfect for me - my nipples are small and it hurts to pump with the typical 21mm "small". Since I can't think all women have large nipples, I don't understand why more sizes aren't offered by pump manufacturers. Maymom, I appreciate your kind words!
In the past 3 years, I have bought pump shields that come in multiple sizes and in two pieces. Thus, I simply copy and paste them into my previous base. At the moment, that is not the case.
I love that it fits my elastic nipples perfectly. It's no longer possible to damage your nipples. Not even a smidgen of the end of the flange is reached. This enables a large amount of length when combined with the base connector. In both cases, my nipples are 15 and 17 mm in size, and I use flanges that measure 17 mm. A 17 mm flange generously applied with coconut oil is just right for the 17 mm nipple, because the nipple is so elastic. Normally you'd want two flanges. You want to keep it about 4mm larger than your nipple diameter, but with truly elastic nipples you want to keep it close to the real size.
After needing to size up from a 13mm (also Maymom), I ordered these. The 13mm was the perfect size for me I much prefer this to the 28mm and 24mm that came with my pump- It's not that they've become smaller, but that In the beginning, I ordered 17mm flanges without realizing they were 15mm, so I ordered them accordingly. The 13mm are better than the 13s, yet they appear much larger and more bulky than the 17mm, yet they look practically identical. Even checked the sizing on them to be sure, but what they say is Despite this, I have not tried measuring them. I gave them 4 stars because they are still better than what I had and are of high quality, but not 5 stars because I'm not sure if the size is right.
The freemie cup/pump, the willow, and the medela flange/pump have all worked for me. In my experience, the Spectra works the best, and other than the Decela, the mobile cups and pumps don't work at all. I have elasticity in my nipples and need frequent massage and sometimes heat for a good pump output. Connectors of this type were purchased so that pumpin pals can be used. For better output and more comfort, it is totally worth it. In my case, I'm using a Spectra Pump.
It's hard to choose between Medela's PersonalFit Flex Breast Shield and their pump bras. I prefer the Spectra pump to those from Medela. I can now use my best pump with an ideal flange thanks to this Medela connector that makes the Spectra pump compatible with all Medela flanges and bras.
You won't have an easy time finding a size if your flange size is less than 21mm. There were several MAYMOM sets of flanges I have, and they all got scratched up after the first wash (before I had a chance to use them). 2) They don't feel as strong as traditional medela flanges. There is a small brush included (if you bought one of the smaller sets), so they are convenient to clean.
