It seems a better design for the purpose than flats would be, since the gusset acts as a sort of trough for diaper contents.
I believe so! The rise can be snapped smaller. You may have to fold the side on Alvas, but the dress easily fits.
100% bamboo fibers are used in this item.

However, I really liked the fact that you get a wet bag and a changing pad along with the 12 inserts for a great price, so I decided to get one. I am pretty happy with the way things are going so far. The first time I used them, I was unsure about them because, after I prepped them, I decided to see how they would do on their own, so I put one inside my pocket diaper to test it. However, both times there was leaking. I tried it twice, both times there was leaking. The top did just fine after adding a microfiber insert. I initially was disappointed, but I, too, decided to double up on it. My baby has a large frame and is around 15 pounds so I'm wondering if she was not putting enough pressure on the pouch with it inside the pocket (so I decided to test it directly against her). It worked perfectly inside one of my covers, with the liner on top. I have not tested it with a pocket diaper yet, but I put it inside one of my covers with the liner on top and it worked perfectly! To summarize, I did this 3 times in a row without experiencing any leaks (just for reference, I change every 2 hours). Besides these, I pair them with a quick absorber line from Geffen baby at night and they are great. If a pocket is paired with an insert, I can put them in the pocket. In my case, I did have a slight leak when I did the same inserts on just the cover, but I think that may be due to the tightness of the cover. So it would be best to put the inserts up against the baby instead of in the pocket if you have a smaller baby and you typically use pocket diapers.
Apart from that, these are great and I am very glad I bought them! It also comes with a changing mat and a wet bag that I really like. This item seems to be of good quality and is adorable! My favorite thing about the pad is its compact size, since I can fit it into my diaper bag easily. The fact that it has a few pockets is also great. A steal deal if you ask me! Item to note I did notice that the edges ruffled slightly after prepping, but nothing that I couldn't live with. Some of these inserts are dirty, so they are not all in the picture.
The update is Originally these had to be cut to fit the trainers I had. Now, for the cloth diapers I have, they are perfect. They hold up well to washing and drying and cannot be beat for the price! *I have bought two sets of these inserts so far, and if they weren't so big, they would be perfect. They hold a lot but I double them at night for my child. One minor problem is that they are an inch or two too long and an inch or two too wide to fit my daughter's cloth pull ups correctly. I ended up cutting them and sewing the sides to insure that they fit.
However, I love them so far! They are cheapest all-natural inserts I've found (not just on Amazon) and they look great! Are they the best of the best? Probably not, but they are a great deal. They are super soft and absorbent, and they are trim! My husband and I did not fully prep them and I only washed them maybe two or three times. We have not experienced any leaks or issues, but are very anxious to see how they hold up to washing and how much more absorbency they will gain. In the near future, I am going to buy a second and triple the set!.
Our little girl still finds these diapers pads to be a bit thick. The baby weighs only about 10 lbs, but when we've been behind on laundry, we've used them. The pads are very absorbent, and we've had no problems with leaks so long as the diaper covers the pad fully. It seems like a nice bag and changing pad, but we are yet to use them much.
Although it was only laundered once, it continued to work well. A total of no leaks were found.
