As a result you can roll up a diaper and tape it shut after your child has peed in it. By doing that, it will no longer be able to open It is actually very useful to have them.
It looks like a small might be a bit too small to me. On their packages, they list the weight ranges and sizes. Now that my daughter is in a size 4 diaper and wearing size 4 swim trunks, she wears a size 4 diaper as well.
My recommendation is to buy a size medium swimmer if your child wears a size 5 diaper. It turned out to be exactly what I wanted and the fit was perfect.

It should be noted that swim diapers are meant to hold poops, not pee (for those who do In the water, the diaper won't get puffy and heavy because the pee goes through and this prevents the diaper from absorbing it. The pouches are so absorbent that they can still contain the soft poop of my one-year-old even when they're soaked.
One time, he even pooped and they held it in, it was a messy accident, but we hadn't realized it until we changed his clothes to get it to dry.
I love the swim diapers! I live in Florida where we spend most of our days at the beach for most of the year. These little Nemo swimmers are perfect for my almost two.
It was great for going to the beach or the pool. As they pulled away- I just tore between the sides to get it off. It went on easily. Neither the little one nor I had any complaints. The product was exactly as described.
As far as absorbency is concerned, this diaper is great. don't know if it was just my baby, but it seemed to fit a little weird in the When I faced forward on either side, her behind wouldn't pull up as high as her front and would always give her a little wedgie, and she'd have one little thumb sticking out of her booty. There is no way a baby of mine can already have her booty out! The rest is fine too.
This is the first water diaper we have used. The water did not absorb into the diaper at all. It is very absorbent when it comes to urination. My kid did not poop so I cannot comment on that, but it is a good swimming diaper.
I used this on my 2 year old and she did great.
My only issue is I'm unsure whether the front or back holds up but these hold up to my weekly swimming lessons, which are comfortable and easy to wear.
