Questions & Answers
Allow tire shine to sit on the tires for about 5 minutes before driving the car.
It all depends on the amount of weight you put on. It gets shinier as you apply more. I've tried a lot of tire shine and this is my favorite; it's an oily spray, and I'm not sure if it's sticky because I don't touch it afterward. I sprayed and waited for it to dry before continuing.
Any type of tire shine, in my opinion, is not appropriate for dip rims.
It restores the appearance of the item, but it does not protect the rubber. What are your expectations for it? Rubber, like all other materials, dries out and cracks over time. If you get a score of 8 or higher, You've won after ten years of no new tires.

I've used a lot of tire sprays, but this is by far the longest-lasting. After trying nearly a dozen other options, I settled on this one. I'm not a big fan of the one-size-fits-all approach. I only have one cleaner/protectant product, so I have to wash and dry the tires first (any water left on the tire or rim lip will cause the spray to fail). Even on a mildly windy day, do not use this because you will use more product and it will spray in your face! Also, do not inhale the noxious mist. It does leave a pleasant finish, though it is only marginally better than the appearance of a new tire. Even though the name implies it, it isn't really shiny or glossy. Aside from the UV-light, I like that it usually lasts a month (time decreases if the tires are rained on), which means you don't have to spray them every week like other brands. The most significant disadvantage is the high cost of this product. My strategy is to buy in bulk when the price falls.
Because of the spray pattern, it can get messy, so make sure you have something under your wheel or your drive will get some. Meguiar's Hot Shine High Gloss Tire Spray is a good value spray in my opinion. It's not the best on the market, but it's also not one of those cheap sprays that don't do much. It's solid middle or slightly above middle quality out there, making it a good value for those who don't need to impress in a showroom and simply want a clean looking set of tires to protect. This is similar to a tire lotion, and it's especially helpful in cold weather.
When I do side-by-side comparisons, I get a higher and longer-lasting shine on my tires. I used Meguiars on the front tire on the driver side and the rear tire on the passenger side, and then used Amour All on the other two tires to get a good comparison of both products on both the front and back tires. The Meguiar's shine lasted approximately 8 to 10 hours. 9 days more to go. So, to paraphrase an old adage, you get what you pay for. Both are good products for the price, but I think the Meguiar's gives me more bang for my buck per ounce.
This is great for shine, but if you don't want it all over your car, I recommend getting some cheap buff pads and spraying it on the buff pad before wiping it on your tires. It looks great and you don't end up with overspray all over your freshly washed car.
This was recommended to me by a member of a Jeep club I belong to. When I was informed of this, the black plastic parts on my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee were beginning to lose their gleaming new appearance. I'd tried everything from olive oil to Armor All before discovering this product, and it's fantastic. I spray this evenly all over my tires and plastic pieces after I've washed my Jeep, let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe off/rub in with a rag. It will remain gleaming for a few weeks after that, if not longer, depending on the weather.
Since discovering this stuff, I've purchased a second can. I just spray on the tires after I wash Jeep, and they look like they've been detailed, and the smell is wonderful; it's a nice bonus. I'm a woman who despises having to clean a car; anything I can come across that produces great results with minimal effort-- sold. This is a must-have for the lazy girl.
For some reason, I was unable to receive my order, but I have previously used this product and found it to be excellent! The tires are in excellent condition. It's a hit with my husband. With Meguiars, it's difficult to go wrong!.
I removed the cap and attempted to use it, only to discover that the spray nozzle had vanished. I tried removing the nozzle from an old can of "Hot Foam" tire shine, but it was the wrong size. I was let down.
