Selected User Reviews For TruckClaws Commercial Semi Truck Tire Snow & Ice Traction Aid Kit
TruckClaws was gracious enough to assist me in getting out of the ditch. He claimed that only ONE of the two would be needed to get my car out of the garage. In a matter of seconds, I was out of the ditch. I went home and did some research on this incredible product, and I was blown away by the numerous awards, industry endorsements, and glowing user reviews. I purchased my own set and am confident that I will be able to save myself in the future if necessary. In just one call to a tow truck, the cost of the product will be repaid.
Unfortunately, one of the ratchets on my truck claws was bound up right out of the box when it arrived. As a result, there is a problem with quality control. Strange, because the truck claws, ratchets, and straps all seemed to be of high quality. Also, according to the manufacturer, this product will fit any truck "as long as the rim has a hole" - That isn't entirely correct. Between the wheel and the fender on my Volvo VN, there is very little clearance. This was a problem because you have to keep the truck claw on top of the tire while tightening the ratchet or you'll be fighting gravity. Furthermore, because my wheels have large hubs, I was unable to fully open the ratchet, rendering the removal of the truck claws nearly impossible. Obviously, I wasn't able to test the truck claws, but I believe you'd need two per tire to get them to work as well as they do in the videos. This product has a great concept; however, it lacks execution. The design, on the other hand, I believe could be improved.
They've all bowed at one point.
I own a trucking company in the oil fields of North Dakota, and these roads are terrible. These things are a big hit with my drivers. I've saved a lot of money on tow bills because of them. When you're stuck on flat ground, just throw on one of these and you're good to go. I've tortured my sets and broken the straps, but it's a simple fix; I contacted customer service and informed them that I had three broken straps. They promptly sent me 6 replacements with no fuss. I'm not sending a truck out on these bad roads unless it has two sets of tires. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THESE!.
They've only been used once and are now completely useless.
