Questions & Answers

I own this product and am in need of parts (a couple of cross links have broken). Can you tell me where I can get more information? about it?

They make repair kits and special pliers to make the repairs; check out the chain company's website, which is where I got ours. A kit contains 10 cross links.

Is it necessary to add one or two extra bungee cords to these super Z chains?

My set, which was for 315x70R17 tires, came with two sets of rubber cords to keep the chains firmly attached to the tire (black cords in the center of the tire in the seller's photo), and I never had any issues with it. More is usually better, but it isn't necessary in this case. Ed br>Ed br>Ed br>Ed br>Ed br>

Are these compatible with super single tires on semi trucks?

Not sure. Please send an email to the company. and they'll tell you everything you need to know. I'm not sure what size tires you have, but their chart appears to be correct.

Is there any protection for the rims with these?

Should never touch the rim if installed properly.

Great ice traction and a great product! We recently moved up a mountain in Alaska, where we get a lot of ice and snow
5/5

After a complete runaround with snow tires from the shops, I settled on these sweet chains for my wheeling rig. I knew it would be a good product because the majority of the reviews were from commercial truckers. br>br>I installed them on the rig after our first snow 2'. It's a simple installation that doesn't require moving the truck. I assumed we'd be pitting a bad weather truck against a good weather truck. being stranded on top of a mountain A week later, I had a fantastic opportunity to put them to the test. I was able to get to an electric contractor's van after it slid off the mountain on the ice, and I was able to get them back on the road without difficulty. br>br>These chains come highly recommended from me. I rode well up to about 20 miles per hour. 25mph. I'm going to keep them on for the rest of the winter. The tough rubber tensioners appear to be the only wear item, but they send two per wheel, so a spare set shouldn't be too expensive.

During a severe winter storm, we were able to save our household move by using a Penske truck! These chains are without a doubt the best investment I've made this year! My family's financial crisis was completely avoided thanks to you
5/5

Our home's closing date fell on the first day of a severe winter storm in the northwest, and we lived on a steep hill where many cars couldn't make it up after it snowed. It had snowed, melted, frozen to a sheet of ice, and then snowed once more on that steep hill during this storm. We needed to be out regardless of the weather because our house was sold. The 26-foot Penske truck we had reserved for the move, combined with the new weather conditions, increased my anxiety. We had no choice but to travel 350 miles across snow-covered mountain passes to our new home. We didn't have anywhere to wait, and we couldn't afford to pay for the Penske truck to sit with our belongings for an indefinite period of time. We had to figure out a way to make it happen. I looked all over town for chains for the 26-foot Penske truck, but we didn't have any because we lived in a small town with nothing else for 70 miles. I needed something that could be delivered quickly via Amazon Prime and came across these chains that would fit the truck's 11R-style outer wheels. 5 tires on the back. These were only supposed to be used to get up the hill in our neighborhood. We made it up the hill with these chains while cars were sliding down the hill! We then drove them to the highway, where the snow had become so bad that only trucks equipped with chains were allowed to continue. It's a good thing I had these chains with me. Otherwise, I would have been unable to travel further and would have spent days in a hotel. It took 16 hours to drive a distance that should have taken only 5. We drove for 5 hours, but we made it! We drove about 350 miles in total, with about 200 miles of that on ice highway with lots of snow drifting through high mountain passes. I was able to drive at speeds of 25 to 35 mph on the ice and snow. I got up to 45 mph, but mostly stayed under 35 mph. These chains have no maximum speed that I could find. According to my research, the recommended speed is typically 25 miles per hour. With their chains, some big rigs were tearing past me at 50 mph. I'm not sure if it's because they have special chains or if they just don't care about stretching them out. I'd say these chains performed admirably at 35 mph with a 26-foot truck loaded to the brim in harsh winter conditions. The best money I've spent in a long time!.

Because of this, I am giving it a one-star rating
4/5

NO BAG? The cables are excellent and extremely durable. The band stretching tool is a brilliant piece of equipment. For my massive tires (37/12), I needed super heavy duty chains. I'm very pleased with them (5 R20). br>br>However, at nearly $300, it's a bit much. 00, they should include a duffle bag or a carrying case. Every set of chains I own or have ever owned comes with a storage bag, so not having one with the largest, most expensive, and most heavy-duty set seems absurd. When you take them off, wet and dirty, where are you supposed to put them? Lame.

On a snow-covered dirt road, the junk and poor customer service lasted less than half a mile
3/5

The side piece's cross links were yanked out. They landed on the tires at random. After installation, the tensioner bands swelled to double their original size. Although the customer service was excellent, the quality of the product was not. I'm currently using their standard chains on the tires, which seem to be holding up well. br>Update. One time, I used standard chains, which lasted two miles. The end hooks uncurled and the chains fell off when I used them again today. Now I'm being told that I'm to blame because I'm using the incorrect chains. I put their "heavy duty" chains to the test. They disintegrated, so I tried another set of their chains, which also disintegrated and wrapped themselves around the axle. The chains had not been abused in any way. On the snow, I was only going 3 mph. I also had chains on all of the axles, contrary to what they claimed. For various vehicles, I have about 20 sets of chains from various manufacturers. The only snow chains I've had problems with are the security chain company's for the larger tires on the larger truck. Two sets of heavy duty chains, as well as the standard chain, were all defective. PEWAG is going to be my next chain. After their chains failed, even a representative from a security chain company advised them to join them.

The size of the ZT835 chains is incorrect
3/5

If the company gives you the right size, they are most likely good chains. I bought the ZT835 chains after reading about them on the peerless chain website. I'm not an idiot, but I spent several hours wrestling with these chains, and the only way I could get them to hook onto my tires was to connect them incorrectly according to the instructions. I'm pretty sure these aren't the right size for my 275/60 R 20 tires. They're also S class rated, but the inside clearance isn't great because they use cable connectors that take up a lot of room and nearly hit my vehicle's brake lines. Regrettably, I had to learn a $155 lesson.

The PN ZT859 is designed to fit a 285/75-inch tire
5/5

18 (11. 5x35- 18). The Security Chain Company ZT859 is designed to fit a 285/75-inch tire. 18 (11. 5x35- Toyo AT3 is the number 18 on the list. They should also fit a much bigger tire, in my opinion. It fits up to a 37x12, according to the description. 5. I'm not sure about that. On a 2017 Ram MegaCab Cummins 2500, they will clear for front tire installation on a stock rim.
